Most of those supplements are garbage, have unknown long-term effects on the body, contain who knows what, and do not live up to their advertising hype.

It always amazes me that people willingly spend money to put a truly unknown product into their bodies for perhaps a temporary result.

I did some graduate-level lab research on creatine monohydrate during another phase of my life, and can vouch with full confidence for both its safety and efficacy. Same with pretty much any whey protein you'll find on the market. None of those are controlled nor will they show on any drug screen, and they're proven to be safe.

But as for this over-the-counter pre-workout blend, Packrat, you're right and I should have known better, which is exactly why I tossed it straight in the garbage. I spent an hour poring over a peer-reviewed metastudy on the chemical in question (DMHA) and the data says it only causes "false positives" for amphetamines 3-5% of the time, but that's 3-5% of the time I'm not willing to take a risk on when it comes to my career. Not to mention my health first and foremost.

It just so happens that my first choice--Jim Palmer--only does urinalysis, but I am considering some other carriers that do hair follicle as well, so out of an abundance of caution I'm just going to wait the full 90 days if I wind up going with another carrier. Consider it a lesson learned.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

You want to be a muscle jock or a trucker?

You will not need any of that junk in order to turn miles. Eat real food and all that marketed junk will never be necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Supplements have never been needed.

They only go back 90 days because anything longer cost way too much money they want to make sure your not doin it know or recently before employment some dot physicals out where I’m from will ask if you used and how long ago and the test will confirm or deny what you tell them

Geo, I dont know where you got the five year info from but to the best of my knowledge, a hair test can only be traced back 1 year... You hear rumors about companies saying they can go back 2 years and such, this is a scare tactic they use to see who is gonna look guilty. Most companies only look back 90 days... My cousin had to get one done for a security job, not like a mall security or anything but a legit security detail. I myself have a person who is close to me who also said the same thing. I have done research on my own and the most common answer I see is 1 year.

I could be wrong (according to my g.f. its all the time) but I think I am pretty solid on this. I will research again to be doubly sure....

just off different google searches, regardless its been about 2 months... not doing anymore, but a employee isnt gonna listen to that.. i knew a pee pee would be no problem, but knowing they do hair just sunk my battleship.... now i gotta explain this one to the wife in the morning....

According to Turtle's diary on here, I'm pretty sure they do.. You should already know that, if they sent you an invite. They're kinda picky ! Are you qualified, according to their requirements? Just an 'odd' question for a 'potential' candidate; that is all!

Best wishes, and that'd be a yes~!

The pre-employment physical/drug screen at WPF was urine only as of last year when I attended orientation.

Less than a month ago I had to go down for a random drug screen. Urine only then too.

It'd be cool if the list were updated. I quit smoking over a month ago in order to become a driver. I can pass a UA now, but the list is so outdated, I don't know what companies are worth applying to.

Joel as of now Prime and Wilson are both UA only for pre-employment, though my contract at Wilson does state hair follicle can be used at any time for random checks.

The industry is very rapidly moving in the direction of hair follicle as the primary method.

My suggestion is ALWAYS assume you will be tested via hair follicle, give yourself enough time to make sure you pass that, then double it.

If you fail a pre employment screening you’re basically toast. Give yourself six months. It’s the only way to be sure.
