Ryan has it occurred to you I read both the posts you mentioned and chose not to reply because your reply corrected the information adequately?

But I’m going to correct you on one point; WV kingpin law is an anomaly, does not adhere to either diagram and it’s definitely not a bridge law. Those two terms are not interchangeable; bridge law is federal, kingpin law is by state.

And who are you to question anyone’s credibility? You are by far the most antagonistic, biggest pain in the ass on here. 600+ posts are you’re still in moderation. A dubious distinction that you continue to earn.

I pick and choose where and how to reply because I value my free time and prefer not to spend all of it on here policing every single post. I’m not paid, I volunteer my service because I believe in Trucking Truth, this forum and the sense of community we have.

And as far as my comment to your point about backing… it’s on you if you thought it nitpicking. It’s a shame you cannot hold yourself to the same level of perfection and accuracy you seem to demand from everyone else.

Learn your place, get along, or move on. Fact check yourself so we no longer need to.

Because you haven't shied away from chiming in previously after someone has already been corrected. Because my first post in correcting the tanker endorsement didn't get through moderation and no small amount of time, relative to posts of your own, had past since the tanker comment of reference was made.

It's my opinion, and the very posts of this forum are evidence in support, that you care more about showing me up, when you see the opportunity, than actually making sure every post is accurately sharing information.

If this were not true, you would even nitpick minute details of your fellow moderators with the same fine-toothed comb with which you nitpick the most insignificant of details in many of my posts.

No person is perfect, so anyone posting here is capable of making an error of any type. It's simply being human. You have more knowledge and experience in trucking than I do, so I expect you to read things that I post and think, "Well that's not quite right." Be exacting with everyone then. Don't pick and choose whom to correct, especially when you have one post that didn't use the best wording while the overall content and larger point is accurate, and another post that is just factually incorrect on its face. There is a spiritual reference here that is referred to as straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel. I am sure you understand its applicability here without me further explaining.

I was gonna just keep this to myself, but since you feel like airing your dirty laundry out in the open… you come across like a complete know-it-all. Dude, your profile literally says “rookie solo driver” and if iirc from previous posts you haven’t even been driving for a full year, yet you always seem to have so much to say. Maybe try to spend more time learning from the more experienced drivers on here than trying to school everyone all the time. Just a thought

As for me coming across as a know-it-all, that's fair criticism. I accept it as a flaw that definitely could use addressing.

As for my driving experience, your memory fails you there. Several months ago, I began posting on this forum as an experienced driver. I had roughly a year of experience at that point. I began driving solo after training in April 2021.

Ah fair enough. I’m not on here nearly as much as I used to be so I must have missed that. Your experience and willingness to help new drivers is appreciated but please understand that arguing with the moderators like this really makes you look bad more than anything else you may think you’re accomplishing. It really undermines any help you may be trying to give to other drivers

Feedback noted, and I do take things to heart when worth doing so. You don't post much on matters where there is contention, and I take the view that when someone who doesn't say much in particular scenario decides to speak up, it's probably worth taking heed.

Ryan, I think you have some good to contribute often, but I also think you have a tendency to take things personally. I went solo at almost the exact same time you did, and I still consider myself a rookie driver. I frequently seek advice here.

The mods here have corrected me when I was off, it's how we learn and others learn from our experience. In particular, Gtown PackRat and OS have all corrected me on things, grateful that they have.

Guess what I'm trying to get at is that we can show others how to handle criticism and how to be open minded simply by how we handle it ourselves.

That's great feedback for myself and anyone who is starting off in trucking. I do appreciate the various perspectives provided here. I have had to eat crow many times after being reminded that OTR driving is not the only perspective for this industry. I have learned from many here that freight types, lane types, and driving position types all give varying perspectives, so there is never just one way of looking at any situation. On top of this, drivers who have been around for a significant amount of time have just seen and experienced more. Their thoughts and perspective simply carry more weight than someone who is just a short time in the industry.

Like yourself, I really think of myself as still in the rookie phase. Still learning and growing. I will get out of the truck and find another career, if I ever feel like I have arrived.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

That's something new? This was suggested to you months ago by numerous people. What's changed? And please address the forum with your answer, not me.

You have made this unnecessarily personal with me Ryan, as if on some kind of crusade, berating me, judging how I conduct my business as a moderator, questioning my motives, my credibility and my character. You do not know me. Yet like so many other things are now a self-proclaimed authority on how a moderator (in this case me) should interact with you.

I can no longer maintain any degree of objectivity when it comes to you. I'm done, the other moderators can deal with you.

Chicken or the egg. The history of posts that is available to be read on here shows which came first.

Your objectivity was gone long before now, but I am glad that you at least recognize it now.
