Enjoy the journey Theron!

I had something like six bus rides before I landed my first job, some of them over 36 hours long. I almost always met other truck drivers or rookies on the bus with me going somewhere. I discovered that most of the time if there was a grown man on the bus who had a pillow with him, he would be a truck driver.

Keep your eyes and ears open, and you just might find somebody who is going to the same place (orientation) you are.

Thanks & you were right! I have met 6 other guys down here that are truckers. 1 going to swift which is where I'm going. Others going to CR England, & I forgot the other company.

Currently in Denver, CO waiting on 12:30am to catch the next bus. I forgot Marijuana was legal here. There are guys walking around with Bags & I mean BAGS of weed trying to sell it to people at the Greyhound here in Denver. I'm like 😱😱😱

Hopefully if everything goes on schedule as planned I should be in Salt Lake City, Utah in about 5 hours. LONGEST RIDE EVER!! I'm definitely not doing this greyhound thing again. I'll gladly pay for a flight

Now you know why I was asking if there were any other transportation options available. I can say you are a better man than me because there is no way I would have made that bus trip. I would like to know what other options are available and how much they cost before I make that decision. They may even be willing to take it out of your check and not make you pay upfront. The good news though is that if you can survive 41 hours of waiting on the bus and layovers, then you should be able to survive pretty well in the trucking industry.

Yeah - the bag-o-weed thing is weird. I was recently in Oregon, where it is likewise legal.

Problem is - it is not legal in bordering states, and anyone that buys a bag and takes it to another state is in violation of state/federal law.

Good thing, as truck drivers that have to drug test - we don't worry about smoking weed, because we can't & don't.

Keep us posted on your progress...

Rick
