Not wanting to hijack this thread, but how many jobs is too many?

Got terminated last February, cost cutting measure, from a job that I had for four and a half years. But I have had three sense then (still at third job). Is this enough to keep me out, or should I get creative? I can get creative, with documentation if I need to .Just not sure what the companies can find out. I'd rather not begin a new career with questionable tactics, but I want to begin this great career and don't want rebound jobs keeping me out .

Sam, you just send in the apps. Don't assume the worst and reject yourself before your company has their chance.

Just send in your apps (use the Apply for many Trucking jobs) and let them decide.

True. I'm currently on here looking at the updated info for a couple of other carriers: Werner, Roehl, Schneider, etc. I'm going to refine my backup plan just in case. I'll get into a company, even if it's not my first choice. Of course, if they say I just have to stay at my current job for 1 year (I've been there already 8 months) then that's an acceptable wait time for me. But if they want anything more than that I don't want to wait around any longer. I'll apply with my other choices and see who comes back with an offer and start date.

There is also Henderson Trucking Driver Academy. We pulled Prime freight and dry van for Tennant

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Sam P., I'm not an expert on anything trucking. That said, I feel like your instinct to be honest is best. I know Stevens Transport digs for REAL. Saw a couple of guys who I was fond of get the boot for things they fudged or didn't disclose. I'm glad I was as honest as possible because they knew about it and had a chance to see that good or bad I'll give em the straight ****. No surprises for them = no surprises for you in my very limited experience.

I completely agree with the guys - be honest on your application. If they find a lie or failure to disclose they'll toss it in the trash and red flag your name in their system. These companies do really serious background checks. Assume they will find everything.

Make sure you keep the job you have until you're ready to get started with trucking. Whatever you do, don't get fired. Some companies, and Prime is one of them I know, normally won't hire someone who was fired from their last job. You'll be perfectly fine with four jobs in about 5 years. Many people coming into trucking are doing so because they can't find a job elsewhere that pays what they need. So the companies are used to people that have fallen on hard times or jumped around from job to job recently. Totally normal.

Amen!

It's about being trustworthy. Think about the equipment and power our employers entrust us with each and every day. Finding a major discrepancy on an application is a major red flag and usually halts the process before ever making it to the start line.

Assume they will find all the skeletons in the closet. Always be truthful.

Thanks. That's what I want to do, and will. Just geeking out too much. Probably thinking too much. About got finances taken care of so we can miss 4-6 weeks of paychecks. Thanks for helping me not be stupid.
