Remember when I said we were Ina tough situation financially??
Well thanks to reimbursements and the goodness of the company (never thought I'd say that), I am actually getting a paycheck this week!! And I will have a nice one next week as we ran nearly 2800 miles. I'm all set up with an 1800 mile load now, just waiting on the trailer to be ready and for midnight to roll around so I get some hours back.
Things seem to finally be leveling out. Now that I've got some experience under my belt and know how to properly manage my time and can back a lot better, my miles have gone way up.
So thanks to all of you who have offered support and prayers and I hope you hang around to share in the good times!!
Good for you Chickie. All the best to you and your husband.
Great to hear. Hope things keep getting better. Keep us posted. This site is like a family.
Chickie, Good job! Im glad you are figuring out the Time Management"THINGIE"
Girl you're way ahead of me! I finally passed. Now to find the right company. Home time is very important. That probably means less miles plus fewer cpm. Very glad to hear things are better and going your way!
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Yay!! Glad to hear things are finally getting easier. You've got some grit to have gotten this far with everything you guys have gone through. Good luck!
And if we're ever in the same place it would be a pleasure to meet you and your hubbie
I'm always on the lookout for fellow Truthers out here! I expect someday to be in a truck stop and hear "ChickieMonster?" I'll get a good laugh out of that!
We are in Dodge City waiting on our trailer. I know there are plenty of reefer drivers in here and Dodge City seems like reefer heaven so if anybody is around we are hanging out in the bobtail at the Flying J.
On a funny note...
I found chocolate cake on the bakery clearance rack at Walmart today. I was getting ready to eat it when I decided the perfect thing to go with it was ice cold milk. But it's storming!!
And everybody knows that Chickies melt in the rain...
So I told hubby if he would go get me some milk he could get himself some chocolate milk. I wouldn't let him get strawberry milk at Walmart bc we didn't have room in the fridge so that made him happy.
Speaking of, my milk has been delivered! Chickie, meet chocolate heaven....
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.
A refrigerated trailer.
Congratz Chickie!! You've certainly earned it!!

I saw a TransAm truck on Glenstone in Springfield the other day. Took a peek at the driver, just in case lol
Glad things are coming around for the good.
