Rand McNally 730 Issues. Help

Hi..my stupid GPS says I'm in PA but I'm in MO. It allows me to out a destination but routes from PA. It has a GPS with a circle and line as if it is not connecting to satellite.

The stupid manual has no trouble shooting and online info says "is not in the right place. Something blocking line of sight". LIAR!!!!

Yes....I turned it off.....yes I unplugged it and let the battery die ...yes I called the help desk to no avail.

Toss it out the window, grab your atlas and reference with Google Earth. Or go with the Dezl.

Have you moved at all since the problem started? Maybe you are just in a place with a bad signal. Do you have any new electronics in the truck?

GPS only works on earth, is MO considered part of this planet?

Atlas doesn't have truck stops and walmarts listed lol

My 530 dose that from time to time. If you can check the gps and see how many satellites it's hooking up with it, need at min 3. Try moving the truck and restarting the gps always works for me. If the truck is pointed north, I have had a lot of problems and if I am in the northern us I have some problems. Last I checked there were only 27 gps satellite s in the world.

Yeah I know. But it isn't the same. I like being able to drive and not kill myself with a countdown of the miles so I know exactly which atop I can make it to on my clock lol

Turns out they just called me back....it's a satellite issue....not my GPS.

As in GPS Satellite Network is down?

DAMN YOU PUTIN!

I would (normally) call BS on this. But I can't really find from the FAA, if any birds are actually down. You normally triangulate with 3 or more birds for a fix. There should be an option in setup or diagnostics - to see how many birds you are receiving.

Oh plz..u know I don't know that stuff. I called back to ask if they had an ETA and there is a recorded message now that says "if you are experiencing issues, be advised satellites are down due to maintence and at times due to government repositioning. If you have others issues blah blah blah".

Rick last I checked all 27 satellites were property of the u.s government, no other county had gps satellites up, last I checked.
