I have completed the gauntlet. I have navigated the labyrinth. With the help of many on here, preparing me me for what to expect,I have received the keys to my very first truck, as a Walmart dedicated driver, for Swift. My mentor and I turned 17k miles in 4 weeks and 2 days. Which is pretty good, on this account, from what he tells me.

This truck is only temporary, as it is a Lightweight, and it was the only one available at the terminal where I upgraded. I wil transfer to a condo once I am back at the DC, eventually. In the meantime I will be very cozy.

Now, the REAL education begins. Truck number 160264 If you see me as you pass me, give me a wave.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Walmart dedicated driver

DangI And right out of the box!

I couldn't get GP dedicated until I had a few months OTR. Best of luck Danielsahn!

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Congratulations Daniel! Great job! Very happy for you. Couldn't ask for a better entry into trucking than what you experienced.

17k for 4 weeks on the Wally Parade is dang good mileage. 1800-2000 per week is likely where you will level off at running solo.

You'll appreciate the shorter turning radius of the LW. That's my truck of choice for this account.

Good luck!

Congratulations to you on this milestone achievement! I'll give a wave if I see you. I usually just give your trucks a wide berth...dancing-banana.gifdancing-banana.gifdancing-banana.gifdancing-banana.gif
