Automatic tire chain installer, for lack of a better description.

Hopefully this Facebook link works

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

That looks cool. However, one has to have their own truck in order to modify it like that. We are told our chains are for decoration and to get out of a situation to get you where you can shut down.

Agreed. That guy is in Canada, probably in the NW where they use them a lot.

But he has some awesome fabrication skills.

Grumpy-

That was a cool video of the tire installer. But the cost of installing them on so many trucks in the say the 3 largest companies would be Big $$$$$.

I know they would not go for it. But what saving of the backs on so many drivers to have them. Maybe bring it up to the next safety meeting?

A sure nifty Idea.

Just use a two by four and put it under the inner tire thus raising the outer tire and put the chain on without having to roll onto the chain...
