This is what happens when drivers become over confident, complacent, and irresponsible. This poor judgement killed a kid, injured others and ruined the driver's life as well.

Its just not worth it. Pull of the road and stop. Do what you need to do.

This is why companies scrutanize records so thoroughly. When driver wannabes post "i was stupid and got in trouble and no one will give me.a.chance now"....this is why they are afraid to risk hiring a person with poor jiudgement and a checkered past.

ONE stupid move kills

This is what's wrong with people these days, they would rather risk everyone's life then pull over for a few minutes to do what they need to do. They believe since they do it all the time and have X amount of experience they will be fine, but when you keep pushing your luck; things like this will happen.

Most likely has done it many times before with no problem. No excuse. I'm just pointing out something.

It's not going to.be easy for the family. Everytime they see a truck driver they are going tkwa t to RIP his head off. I know I do. It's the same thing when independents co.e passing me at 90 plus miles an hour. Yes we all want to be on time, but that isn't doing safely. Sad, and he was just getting to enjoy life. My prayers go out to his family.

Crazy.. my last trainee I requested she be put in someone else's truck, after she removed a jacket while behind the wheel.. not once, but twice.. amongst other things. Hopefully she got the message that it was a serious no-no and apparently did better with the second trainer and tested out and went solo.

Removing clothing while driving is something I won't tolerate in my truck.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
