I am still studying for my CLP and totally new to trucking industry but saw this article and thought about sharing this here.

CLP:

Commercial Learner's Permit

Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.

Yes. I know it is not for me, I just posted for others.

Walmart also requires that 30 months be accident free.

WalMart advertises low prices. Maybe they should lower their requirements for drivers. Just an idea.

Cheaper to attract and retain driver's with proven safe records than to pay for the accidents and suffer the service failures of less proven driver's.

Just another example of how TOP TIER DRIVERS are what the driver shortage is all about. Walmart is one of the jobs many drivers look at as the "golden opportunity". Jobs like that aren't just handed out. They're earned like most things in this industry.

Well, I have given Walmart a lot of business. Shouldn't they return the favor? dancing-banana.gifconfused.gif

Bruce, so clever...

Are you familiar with the type of job a Walmart driver is required to perform? There is a darn good reason why they want the “cream off the top” and willing to pay top $$$ to get it.
