Congratulations! Good luck! And above all else, safe travels.
Yes...Congratulations and good luck to ya, Spaceman! I hope you are able to enjoy the experience while learning.
Congrats SS! Continue success on your journey. Yes, streamlining is a great word for TNT rookies. All your gear has to fit in that top bunk where you also have to sleep when the truck isn't moving. I'd bring a lightweight sleeping bag to use when sleeping on his/her bunk when the truck is rolling. Good luck out here & since G-Town didn't say it, "watch your wagon" © G-Town.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
Be a sponge, be patient, take away the good and bad, one day at a time, and everything is temporary.
Could one of the many Primates on this site expound a bit on your acronyms for the rest of us. I know that Prime trains quite a bit differently that most other carriers. PSD , TNT , etc.
The only acronym we learned at Swift was Swing Wide It's a F...ing Trailer.

Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

What is the difference between the two?

Thanks, never knew that was there. I'm definitely not the smartest guy in the room, and if I am, I'm probably in the wrong room!

Passed the test last Monday and flew home next morning. Waiting on TNT trainer and have been sitting at home since.
Feels good to have license finalized, lawn mowed and some basic other errands done. I'd advise anyone in the future waiting during this juncture to re pack their gear, I know I switched around a few things to make me more streamlined.
Seems the trainer I'm getting may be taking me over all 48 so I'll get to be out adventuring over a broader theater as well.
Good luck to all those starting their journey this week and safe driving to the rest of you.
