So today, someone literally drove a Ryder day cab into our terminal in Marietta, GA, stole a trailer and busted through the outbound gate. Just wow, the balls some people have. shocked.png

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

Probably a inside job, if they targeted that one trailer, they must have known what was on it. Or they took a huge shot in the dark and hoping it was worth the risk.

Empty or loaded, Jamie?

It was loaded, we got a fleet wide message about it as well. They are offering a reward for information that lead to the recovery of the trailer and its contents.

Any idea what the load was?

Many of the mega carriers are self insured....that is how they can train. Otherwise insurance would be outrageous for newly licensed drivers.

Ok, so can you pass on some ID so all the TT'ers can help out? ($$)

I was wondering....If it was something useful to me, I'd do a portion of the contents.

I guess Cargo theft really is 51 percent greater during the thanksgiving weekend. I would love to know what was on that trailer. Probably A trailer full of beef jerky. 48000 pounds of beef jerky. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. :)~~
