Yes, indeed~! Perhaps he was a subject for an upcoming publication all along?!?

I have to tell you, R.Doyenne . . you have excellent writing skills, as well. One of the FEW people I know, besides myself, my kids, and Rainy of course, that know (or remember?) that punctuation goes INSIDE quotes, parentheses, and/or any other interrupters!

Yes, I do get 'teen lazy' at times. Texting teenagers that are all over Ohio as licensed drivers (non CDL , thank gawsh!) slips my grip on proper, from time to time!

Back to the topic, do we really even know who he is, Rainy? I've combed the 'out to dinner' threads numerous times, and I believe I've got it down to a bead, but no confirmation is killing me. I'm not done playing P.I. yet, haha!

I didn't actively bet per se, just the ones in my mind. I believe I'm winning!

Be safe, y'all !

Anne :)

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

You need to come up with a signal that one has left the truck. Get a stuffed toy and put it in the driver's seat when one of you departs the sleeper. I've heard countless stories of one driver being left at a truck stop, a rest area, or a customer.

i put his folders on the seat, walked up to him in the store and said "im going to the ladies room, dont leave me." he grunted and nodded but didnt look at me. When i got out he was gone. I thought for sure he was playing a game and walked through the lot towards a green International until i realized it wasnt our truck.

I didnt have my phone and had to call dispatch.. who ALWAYS answers on the first ring ... unless im left at a truck stop. Then i called Prime security who asked me a dozen questions thinking it was a sexual harrasment or conflict issue. i was like "it was an accident.. just get him back here."

This was in southern MO with bad cell service and tiny roads without a turn around.

He was distracted on the phone with a personal issie and wasnt even grunting at me. i didnt realize he was on the phone when i told him in the store. He got some ways dpwn the road when he realized HE had his folders on the dash. He called me when drivng and heard my phone was like "awww $#!&, im in trouble." he was on his way back when Prime notified him. lol

i think we will re-enacte it for a video lol

Thanks, Annie, you're a sweetie...

Methinks this is simply delicious.

As an author, Kearsey provides explicative text on the trucking arts. She's published fiction and other narratives, as well, now venturing into playful, off-beat takes on trucking and associated characters on YouTube (kudos, Kearsey, I love your creativity!).

But NOW..... when it comes to matters of the heart...... new territory.

I'd sure have fun pondering what the best expressive approach for the topic in my toolbag would be, lol.

Awww, Kearsey, our last 2 posts kinda crossed, yours went first. Maybe you're pragmatic but I still think there's fun to be had, lol.
