Rob T says:

You're either guilty and pay a fine and take the points, or you're found not guilty/ charges dropped. There is no traffic school or pleading down to a non moving violation like an equipment violation.

FYI, for CDL holders the FMCSA regulations prohibit amending charges so that it doesn't show on your MVR.

FMCSA Antimasking

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.

Interesting... thanks Rob...

The Brooklyn Queens expressway in NYC has a 45 MPH speed limit and so do a lot of the bridges.

Yeah...but come on..you are lucky to go 25mph there....so 70mph??? Lol

Many cities including Chicago area do have lower speed limits but I was trying to figure where one could go 70mph and not kill themselves or be able to do so with traffic. Heck..in washing dc or Richmond VA you couldn't do 70mph at midnight due to traffic lol

At night it's very easy to do. When I was in my early 20's I would get from Brooklyn to the Bronx in 10 minutes doing that speed.

Lela I highly recommend you Apply For Paid CDL Training and see what you hear regarding that. DO NOT waste your money on private school as that is a serious ticket. You will hear some companies tell you no but don't give up. If nobody can hire you right now they'll tell you how much time you need since the ticket.

Good luck. Please let us know what you find out.
