I'm on my way to NC to drop off my student. I have a pre plan to pick up tomorrow after I deliver to get me home for some time off.

Then this happens: Trailer tire blew out. That was fixed pretty quickly by roadside assistance. So we get ready to roll again and we hear some major air leakage. The air bag adjacent to the trailer tire was punctured. Big hole in it.

Just another day in the life of a happy driver😁

Well that sucks, I hope you get back on the road soon. But I've never seen a tire end up like that. It looks like something that was made to scour the highway as you drive.

Yeah. Or like one of those grinder bits on a drill. It is shredded for sure!

Now that's a perfect job for Flex Seal if I ever saw one! Then some JB Weld, and top the whole job off with Gorilla Tape. Good as new in no time flat.

See what I did there?

Work at home accident. Painting the house and being the genius that I am, I decided to clean the paint sprayer with a knife. Knife slipped and went through the webbing of my hand. I get to sit at home for 10 days until my hand heals.

Doh! That stinks! I hope you're still able to finish painting. Get well soon, Banks.

Not good, have a wisdom tooth pushing into the one in front. Saw a dentist Tuesday he said see oral surgeon and offered me Codeine for the pain but I turned it down at the time it didn't hurt too bad. Plus I don't want to use Codeine not even factoring in all the DOT and Company policy problems it will cause.

Fast forward to today at 3 PM I was in incredible pain oral surgeon agrees to move consult to Friday. Can't sleep all night ask my terminal to put me on shuttles since it's only 30 miles each way and will keep me up, OTC drugs are only lasting like 40 minutes then the incredible pain returns so I said I have to go home. Now I have to call in the AM when bosses are there and see what they want me to do. My dentist doesn't open to 11 I'm hoping for some stronger Ibuprofen prescription until the surgery.

At times the pain is so bad the right side of my face goes numb.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
