I heard that some drivers mount their bikes on catwalks, but only today had a chance to see it! Looks cool to my eye, especially the matching color :-) Does anybody have this or maybe some different setup?

Anne, thank you,, but I am confused about an A seat - are you sure you have the right person in mind? I am still looking for a job after a lost my local gig :-)

We thought you were at Western Express. It sure seemed like you told us that.

What happened?

Here's what you told us...

It is hard, I need to tell you, to find a good job with only 6 months of experience and a poor safety record! Hard, but possible. Finally, I found a company that is willing to give another chance, it is a Western Express. They need a NE regional van driver, orientation is 2 days, then they assign a truck and I can start driving. Life is good!

That's why Anne thought you were in the "A" seat.

You even told us about your good experience at orientation in Plainfield, CT.

Regional:

Regional Route

Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

I thought A, B, C seats is only a Prime thing, sorry for misunderstanding.

Right, but unfortunately it didn't work and I came back home today. So, I applied and got an OK from a WE recruiter to come for a 2-day orientation. My six months of experienced was enough to put me in a level 1 category (no training required). I made it very clear, and the recruiter confirmed that it is so - after 2 days I will be assigned a truck. The training went well I had a road test, some safety videos and their tablet training. Then all of a sudden I was told that they moved me to level 4 (240 hours OTR with a trainer) because of my termination at Roehl. I neither wanted it, nor even was prepared to leave home for a month. That's s why I returned my brand new EFS fuel card and left. I still believe that WE is a good company, although my particular recruiter could do a better job and tell me about this change at least before I signed all the paperwork. Every single person I met at the terminal in Plainfield was both professional and kind. I was upset, but apparently it is what it is - I will have to deal with my Roehl past for a while... Now I am back on the market, this time expanding my search to smaller companies owned by Russians :-)

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Good luck Andrey. We wish you the best, but you are taking a very difficult route. I don't doubt you will find something. I know there are those very type companies you are looking into. My good friend Daniel Babayev tells me how Russian people here in the states really trust each other and help each other. He won't even buy a used car unless it is from another Russian. I just fear you are going to run into the same issues you had with this last company. If something goes wrong they may end up terminating you. With each termination you are going to have to keep lowering your standards until you have no more options.

I hope it all works out well.

Good luck Andrey.

Thank you, Old School. Your wise comments helped a lot of people here, including myself. I am trying not to lower the standards, but this is how this industry works. Money is far less important than good reputation, so right now I am mostly concerned in finding a place where I can safely drive for at least 6 months. After that a lot of good doors will hopefully reopen for me.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Aye comrade, this why its a good thing that true Russian trucking companies have no standards! Heartbeat? You're good to go! White Volvo, no governor, sandals only no shoes - let's goooo!
