If you are looking for a good lace up workbook I would go with the carrhart rugged flex boot. I have had the black pair for 4 years and last winter it took everything that a dollar general Trailer could throw at it. Very good boot!
As an OTR driver you will actually spend most of your time "indoors" - your truck.
A few years ago I delivered new trucks to dealers and had to unload the new power units outside in winter (think Fargo ND and Wausau WI in January). I wore basic mid-ankle hiking boots with thin insulating socks and thick spun (like wool) socks. No cold feet for me.
Not my boots, but these are the weather conditions.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Before we know it winter will be upon us, just trying to plan ahead, hope y’all are having an awesome day!

The Carharrt's are excellent; Tom still has his of 5 years, too.
Got him a new pair for Xmas .. just because... and he loves them. Carolinas. We've done Red Wings in the past, too.
The ones I got him this time, have the 'hasp' thingies on the top, so.. not totally 'lace up.' Easier, I guess.
One less thing 'we' need to buy this year, TG, haha!

I’ma big fan of the Ariat Rebar series. Waterproof, insulated and have an excellent, flexible sole. They’re probably one of the most comfortable I’ve ever worn and use them even in the harshest winter conditions.
Fwiw, I used to wear steel toe insulated work boots for construction and I found it really hard to be sensitive on the pedals with them. I switched to a light weight composite or steel toe ankle height hiker. Currently wearing nautilus. They look like hiking shoes but are actually light weight steel toe insulated.
These from Walmart. They last. The laces suck, but the boots take a lot. I wear mine for snow, heavy rain, mud and when a customer requires steel toes. They rarely get worn.
Hey Big Scott,
I agree on the laces. When I buy a new boot I also buy a new pair of quality laces and relace the boots. The ones that come with the boot are garbage and I just throw them away.
