Forums, unless they’re firearm related, generally tend to be bad places to get information regarding legislation and legality. You tend to get pieces of correct information diluted with a ton of incorrect info. If anyone reading wants or needs to know their rights regarding the carry out transportation of a firearm and wants to get it from a 2A and constitutional attorney , I recommend researching and following Ryan Kleckner and Gun University. Any and every question you could possibly ever have has been discussed along with receipts and legal precedents regarding those issues.

Portland has been declared a riot, but then they just look for excuses. I still remember watching Reginald Denny being torn from his truck and beaten. I would refuse to go any place that was sketchy, hopefully most companies would understand that.Stay safe out there!

Excellent recommendation, thank you. You can never be "too informed."

When talking about the potential of legally defending yourself vs life in prison, education is all you have. Ryan is also the type of person you enjoy talking to. I’ve taken a couple of his firearms training courses in the past as well as meeting and speaking with him at SHOT show in Vegas.

I have no problem at all with this conversation. It's 100% relevant to truckers and our safety. It's also relevant to our entire society.

Fortunately for drivers, any rioting that has happened over the past two years was limited to small areas of a handful of cities, and they were in fact Democratically controlled cities. I don't care about party affiliations. I'm an independent thinker so I don't associate myself with group-think very often, though there are times I agree with the majority or my beliefs align with certain groups.

What I want to avoid is incorrect information or poorly thought-out opinions that will hurt someone's career. We must get our facts straight and we must form opinions based on fact and historical record.

I'm also perfectly fine with disagreements. We don't all think alike. It's ok to disagree. I just don't want it to turn into, "My way is the only way."

I get accused of being intolerant of people who disagree with me. That's never been the case. I love a lively debate! Always have. Unfortunately, you can't have productive debates with just anyone. Many people use tactics that turn a productive debate into a downward spiral of name-calling or disingenuous baloney. They avoid answering questions, or their opinion has little or no basis in fact. They watch mainstream news and think they're informed.

So feel free to debate and it's ok to disagree. Let's just make sure we bring solid facts to back our opinions and let's keep it from spiraling downward into a low-level mess.

Not sure if you were trying to say that the terrible beating of Reginald Denny happened in Portland, but if you were that's totally false. It happened in Los Angeles at the intersection of Florence and Normandie. I was 14 when it happened and living in Long Beach, CA. Just a few weeks before that, there was a riot at my school (DeMille Middle School). Because both incidences of senseless violence happened so close together, many of the images and facts are permanently burned into memory.

Jury did a great job. I can imagine how much courage, honesty and dignity it took to make a decision they made, considering all the hostility and threats they experienced.

I think that it was probably the same as any other hugh profile case where there is supercharged energy on both sides in the public opinion arena. I agree that the jury did a solid job.

It has been no secret on here that my political views are left-leaning. No matter how a person feels regarding whether a 17-year-old kid should have been in that place at that time with an assault rifle, he was not on trial regarding his decision to be there. I am glad that the jury understood this. I am glad that the judge excluded the tape of Rittenhouse talking about going to shoot people who were looting because it really was not relevant to what happened in that moment. I really believe that the only reason he shot the people that he did in that moment is because he genuinely feared for his life. Whether he should have been there or not doesn't matter because he was there and he did feel like he life was threatened. I don't ever think that a 17-year-old should be faced with the prospect of never seeing the outside of a prison again. I think that is too much for such a young man to process.

Thank God for a justice system that is flawed but at least tries to get things right. That's far better than many other countries.

There is still a lot of work to be done and improvement needed. I pray that we can be kind to each other and demonstrate our grievances in peaceful ways. God bless everyone.

My only disagreement with your statement Kerry is the use of assault rifle. The civilian version of the Armalite rifle platform is not an assault rifle because it lacks the capability of a selective rate of fire (very important fact that the majority of people either don’t know about or choose to ignore). There aren’t that many people allowed to own automatic weapons and it requires a relatively expensive license with an extensive background check and very strict terms to maintain it.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Yes, I actually thought that the civilian version of the AR-15 had a selector switch for rate of fire, just like my Marine Corps-issued M-16 A2 service rifle had. However, that M-16 A2 service rifle was not fully automatic. It had the option for one shot fir one trigger pull or a three round burst. Thank you for the correction.
