They teach it, test you on it and make you can out signs as you drive by them. The problem is the attitude some people have that says "once I'm on my own, I do what I want".

This guy was not fired. He got sent out with a trainer and had to start from scratch. They invested money in training him and getting him licensed, so they decided to reinforce the training.

I don't know how he's doing now. He transferred to another building about a year ago.

I use 2 Garmin truck GPSs. I buy a new Atlas every year. Paying attention and knowing where you're going is the most important thing to keep you out of trouble. Yes, every GPS will eventually screw you up. I have one that likes to tell me the interstate is closed. It is, however there is a detour or the lanes are shifted.

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

I have a 2021 atlas, but opened it two, maybe three times since this March. Apparently, a lot depends on the route, I usually go to simple places not too far from major interstates, so Garmin works well for me. What I find useful in addition to Garmin, is looking new places on satellite image at Google Maps. It doesn't work every time, but in most cases it does.

I gave my 2020 Atlas to Jammer, then he went back to drilling in the oil fields business again!
