Sorry to hear that.
Sorry to hear that Don. Atleast you have an advance warning to help prepare you. Please keep us updated what happens.
Well, I received news today that the company I work for is ceasing operations, with last day October 31st. They have been in business for a very long time, so the sudden nature of their closing shop is shocking. We hauled for International Paper, and it appears IP is going with another company to haul their product. I will stick it out until the end, and see about trying to get hired by the company IP is going to. What a shame. I truly enjoyed working for my employer.
FAB?
Just spoke with a few higher ups; they are CLOSING select yards per Jim Baum. Wooster would BE one. Losing SOME accounts, and trimming the hedges, I'd guess.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
So it’s it just yards in Ohio? Is Tom being effected?

Bird One, it's all 'tippy toe'ing' right now. Chicago is .. well, Chicago. They've got things in the works.
Wisconsin, on the other hand.... nobody knows. I've got no 'in's' there .. *yet!*
The 'boo boos' may even be 'patched' before long; nobody knows. Smaller 'yard' ops will be hit first, then again, even IF.
Will keep y'all posted, as well as Don will.

ps: The QC message Don got, apparently differed than ours/Tom's. It's a huge .pdf file, that ... I'll re read, and perhaps share. This stuff isn't 'new' to trucking; I'm not getting in a 'kerfuffle' myself; nor is the other half.. until we need to!
(So, email me your company info, on a J.I.C. basis, man!) ;) TIA ~!!

The information we got from the owners letter was they are ceasing their entire operations. There was no mention of closing select yards.
