For the second weekend in a row I have not gotten an assignment Going forward. Dispatcher tells me to wait until Monday. This is very unusual for me. Normally, the company keeps me moving

3

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Last month was like that for me, worst I’ve personally had but this month seems to be back to the norm. Should be busy through the holidays.

It was the end of the month last week and coming up on the holidays we weren't as busy as we should've been. Normally they are begging people to work extra days, this time not a peep.

Lately my meet has been getting canceled on my meet guys end at least once a week. So I end up just going to Indy, which is a major hub for us and there is only about a third of the load trailers there usually is.

Normally, I would get an assignment asap. This time it looks like I will get a 34 hr reset, even though I didn’t need it. Hence, I wonder what is going on\ At least I will get to watch the Packer’/patriots game. Go PACKERS!

I only ask because when I’m not driving, I have a propensity to post comments on TT just to irritate other drivers.

Business Insider, Freight waves and other industry publications are predicting a slower season than in the past. Due to supply shortages, many companies such as Amazon and Target have over stocked. The economy keeps tanking, so people are buying less, leaving the warehouses full.

Some stores including Walmart have turned off their automatic ordering system, to prevent ordering less desirable items that take longer to sell.

Some of my owner op friends are dead heading further and further, reducing their profits.

It is going to be interesting for sure.

Anne, you are so funny. And yes, I’m working on my second million miles, but only because I gave up on the first million.,

Well, The Supreme Reliable Source and Keeper of Reality (me) says it will in fact be slower this holiday season, and the follow up months. Count on it.

Get yourself one of these stickers and attach it near the odometer on your truck.
