This winter, what is the coldest temperature you have encountered?

What is the coldest wind chill?

I just got a -04 in Minnesota today, but not much wind. I heard parts of Wisconsin might get -30 wind chills coming up.

I had -11 over Raton pass Sunday night. Roads were clear to but as soon as I got down the northern side, it was freezing fog and ice. I pulled into a rest stop at 3 am praying there was a spot. I slid on the off ramp a bit but was able to get it parked.

I don't know about windchill numbers. My body goes into survival mode once it reaches -40 or lower.

This was a month ago in Rawlins WY. Wind gusts were 40+ mph. According to the weather channel calculator, it was -62°!! with the wind chill.

Minus 34 and minus 24, not even counting wind chill, wow. And very dangerous conditions to be in.

At my company, we keep getting those reminders to put anti-gel fluid in our tanks

Like the old saying: you know it’s really cold when you see a Rooster cross the road with a capon. Lol.

Usually when I’m in Minnesota this time of year and I get an assignment to head to Texas, it’s good news. I’m getting loaded in Rochester this afternoon and then heading down the I35 corridor. Not looking good down that direction. I might get some bonus time off for safety reasons.

Stay on the proper side of safety everyone!

And I've been griping about 37F! LOL. I have been spending at least six hours a day in my walk-in cooler shipping out product. Okay, there is some wind chill involved too but nothing too crazy like some of those numbers you guys have had but I am tired of this and hope to be done in about one week. I say this is my last year of this specialty farm business because it makes me miserable at times, working long hours (12-14 hours/day) and much of it colder than I like. But customers say I can't quit at 65, no way, and we do extremely well in two months of very hard work.

On the bright side, when Michael was driving for CR England on the fresh Dollar General account we got him a jacket from Refrigerwear that seemed pretty nice for the cold work he was doing. I ended up getting one for myself and I highly recommend it. It is quite durable and helps a lot. I am rubbing against sharp shelves often and no tears yet after 2 seasons.

Here are some temperatures from Wyoming that were a lot colder than the -27 I had in Evanston on 31 January.

The coldest that I can ever recall experiencing is -12⁰ at home in southeast MI. I don't remember what it was with the windchill. Those temps being shared here, I can't even comprehend anything that cold.
