Dexter, one thing really bothers me about what you said. “Mistakes happen” in regard to an at-fault fatal accident indicates that you have a cavalier attitude, at least that’s how it comes across to me.

What was the other accident?

I’m not an expert in these matters but I’d be surprised if any company would touch you because of the fatal accident.

There's a lot more to this tale than has been shared so far...

I don't even know your question.

Are you asking about the litigation process or are you asking about trying to find driving job, which based on the title of this thread would be a waste of time on your part.

I want to give the benefit of the doubt here, I truly do, especially after what I just went through. However, this one who has no punctuation, complete run-on sentences, (which by all means is no indication by itself) seems very, meh about the fact that he involuntarily killed someone as if life has very little value; and I honestly don't see a question. This individual wants advice as to what exactly? Advice on how to keep being a truck driver? Advice on the legal issues he is facing? Advice on how to cope with the fact that he was responsible for the unintentional death of another human being?

To the OP, it would help to know the circumstances of the accident, how you were deemed at fault, and lastly, it would help to know what it is exactly that you are seeking advice about. You left it pretty open for interpretation, so without knowing what exactly it is you are seeking help about, I don't think any of these more experienced truck drivers are going to be able to help you. Although this may not help in any way that explains what you are seeking help about, it may help to show some sympathy towards the fact that somebody died due to the accident that you were found guilty of; readers will see you in a much better light that will show them that you are worthy of a proper answer. As of right now, we have very little to go with in helping you.

My thoughts exactly....."How do I skirt around the fact that the loss of an innocent person's life based on my actions is in obstacle to me making money".

Am I reading this correctly? He had two very recent accidents and the last one involved an at fault fatality. And he's asking about how to get a job? Dude, your trucking career is over! You should not even be behind the wheel of a automobile. I'm surprised you are not facing criminal charges.

Wow.. all I can say is just Wow..

I witnessed an accident early in my career where 2 cars where road raging and sideswiping each other. One car spun the other out into the oncoming path of a semi-truck resulting in a fatality of the other car driver. That trucker was devastated by the accident and was cleared of any wrong doing. I was there as a witness for the truck driver and was a witness for the ensuing court case. I don't think he ever went back to trucking.

Dexter, you need to start looking into some other type of work for now. No one is going to hire you with litigation hanging over your head of this sort. You will need to get this legal process over with and hopefully come up with something from the court that gives you some sort of exoneration. As long as you have this pending "at fault fatalaty" I don't see how any legitimate trucking service is going to be able to get you approved for employment due to their insurance underwriters considering you an extreme liability risk.
