I got a call from the head of our Entertainment Fleet the other day. She politely introduced herself and asked if I knew anything about that division. I said not much but it's on my radar. Long story short, she offered me a spot on the next tour! This is something I wanted to try but thought I had to have a year in. Shortly after the 4th of July, I will head out til about mid-October to haul around Madonna's equipment.

Luckily my wife and I have talked a lot about this, and know she supports it, so I was able to confirm my participation on that initial call. I won't get any hometime but if I'm in a city for two or three days and she's off work, she can drive or fly out to me.

Not sure what to expect but that's the adventure!

Very cool Sandman! What company do you work for again? That’s pretty cool your company has contracts like that!

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

BK, they *might* make an exception for her haha!

Pianoman I'm with Veriha. They do tours on their own but this one happens to be contracted out through another carrier. I think she said SET or SCT, one of or the biggest entertainment carrier in the industry I was told.

Yeah Stevo, and apparently for good reason: I saw some floor seats in Chicago are three grand, and heard in Houston they're ten large!!

Hope your backing is excellent. I know drivers that have done the entertainment fleet gigs. One venue in Boston was 3/4 of a mile backing, with two bends and an uphill thrown in.

Taylor Swift's current tour employs 90 semis! You read that correctly.

90 trucks!!!! That is truly astounding. That is the size of a small company all by itself.

I don’t know how PackRat got this information, but I think it proves he is a huge fan of Taylor Swift.

Not a fan. I read about it on Commercial Carriers Journal or Overdrive.
