Since we are talking about concerts, I’m going to relate how old I am.

I attended two Gordon Lightfoot concerts and one Neil Diamond concert when I was a teenager. The Neil Diamond concert was at the UW Whitewater, WI, football stadium. My grandson now attends college at the same institution.

I got to get off early and go see Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin in Denver.

Sounds like a good show to see. Since you brought it up I think i'm going to start a "fun" thread with that topic. It's always cool to see what kind of music people are into.

My truck is almost done. It turned out to be a leak from the DEF filter that was blocking sensors. The mechanic showed me the filter they took out of my truck. It was crusted all over with DEF crystals. I'm happy that they we're able to fix it so quickly. Only one night in the hotel for me.

Talking to y’all makes me feel young as hell 😂

But yeah it was super fun, more fun than I’ve had in quite a while. It’s funny because I’m pretty introverted (making trucking the perfect career choice haha) but I have extroverted friends and they get me out of the house to do **** I wouldn’t do on my own

Huh interesting. I’m glad they were able to get it fixed quickly. Being in limbo is no fun

It has been a while since I last wrote something.

I am sitting here in Cincinnati late at night because I had made a sharp turn on a scale and cause the trailer to tip over to the side.

Right brake drum was injured and so I am sitting here with the repair guy fixing it right now.

I am sure that I will get safety points for this and maybe require to watch some safety videos and at least it's not the tractor that's injured it's the trailer that received most of the damage well at least the brake part of it.

I am learning that in trucking there are days that you win and there are days that you learn and this is a learning experience.

I look forward to continuing to grow as a trucker and continue with this company if they still want me.

Hi Friends,

I talked to Safety today about the incident and Safety stated they want to help me, especially in backing skills. They will set up a training.

The plant that we are contracted with had a shutdown this week so the trucking company I work for did not have any more work for me to do and gave me a choice:

1) Work a half day.

2) Stay there for 7 more hours doing nothing.

I decided to go home.

I was a bit disappointed yet when I was driving home, I started to swerve because I was getting sleepy.

I stopped at the library parking lot near where I lived, took a 22-minute nap, and then drove home.

I think...no, I know this was the right decision because if I had stayed or even called the main office for a run, I would have been fatigued.

Sounds like you made the right choice. Bummer that you had an incident at the scales.

Whenever I'm given a choice of heading home or waiting on the possibility of another load, I choose to go home. Sometimes I feel like going home is a weak decision. Then I figure that there are times my company can't get me home on the day I wanted to start home time. By taking the opportunity to go home early it's like I'm balance the scales.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Ya win some, and ya lose some.

Today, is the day I have come the absolute closest in my adult life, to peeing my pants.

I had timed everything PERFECTLY! Then, I missed my dang turn, and had to take the really long way around on a 2 lane state route. I barely set my brakes, and hopped out, and RAN to the bathroom. I didn't even change my status on the QC. (Primes' will tag " on duty" status option after 5 minutes truck off, still in " drive")

@RealDiehl

Thanks, Chief...I thought my decision was weak sauce yet now I realized this was the optimum choice.

@NaeNaeInNC

I know the feeling! I had many close calls since trucking!

Good defensive driving is how we avoid accidents. But there are accidents and there are "accidents". Avoiding both kinds takes a great amount of skill.

Well done!
