I forgot to add this.

Have you tried doing a forced Regen? If you can't get it to go into a Regen, then the shop will have to do that by hooking up their computer.

Could be alot of things. Try a parked regen like Laura said. I worked on a truck last week with similiar message. Tried a forced regen, no go. Turned out the wiring harness to the scr/dpf system had cooked and shorted out.

Hey, thank you all for the responses. Parked regen wasn't working...at least the way I was advised to do it didn't work.

Night dispatch person told me to Rev RPMs while idling to heat the engine which then would force the truck into regen after a few minutes. So that's what I did. Truck did not perform regen. My speed is now limited to 5mph.

Currently waiting for the shop to respond. Maybe they can offer a solution that will allow me to drive at least 55mph so I can get to a truck stop or dealer to fix the problem.

Hey Friends,

I have been doing solo runs as a rookie with the company I work for.

Thus far in the past two days, I have (not in order):

- Learned how to move tandems through trial and error. - Backed into a tight spot after a few tries. - Drove to Rush, Indiana (Monday), and Danville, KY (Tuesday). - Drove a bobtail back from Danville, KY to the lot. (that was character-building) rofl-3.gif - Learned to use Hammer GPS which is a lifesaver. - Avoided making a U-Turn and found a store lot to turn instead. - Found a metal object jabbed into the left rear tire during pre-trip inspection. - Still don't know why when I go to one Pilot gas station the company's fuel card and my Pilot card work like a dream yet if I go to another Pilot down the road, I get a "Please wait" screen and I could knit socks while waiting. Sigh.

Today, I am scheduled to go to Ohio in the afternoon and hopefully can avoid the Cincinnati traffic.

Pre-trip Inspection:

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

Tandems:

Tandem Axles

A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Backed into a tight spot after a few tries.

Well done. My first real world backing experience took me many tries and I had plenty of room. There was no one on either side of me.

Drove a bobtail back from Danville, KY to the lot.

Was it a bumpy ride? Whenever I BT it feels like my truck is going to rattle apart.

Avoided making a U-Turn and found a store lot to turn instead.

Smart thinking! Hopefully you didn't have to drive too far before you found a spot to turn around. It is a pain sometimes. Especially when you're in a hurry. Better to be safe though and find a place with plenty of room as I'm sure you are aware.

I like crossing that bridge into Cincinnati. Especially at night when the buildings are all lit up.

DEF tank sensor.

I had something similar last year on my previous truck and that’s what it was, a DEF sensor. Since it happened away from the shop and de-rated to where I couldn’t drive it, had to be towed to a Frightliner dealership where they took 3 days to get it in the shop and replace the part. Nice motel, though, lol

- What went well? - What didn’t go well? - What can be better? - What improvements can I make?

Maestro - 24 years in training of new cops (both one on one in the car and as a field supervisor) and about two years in trucking one on one training gave me these questions to ask after every event, shift day, or at weekly training recap. They apply equally well to trucking, but darned if I didn't blow the trainees away by asking them rather than telling them.

"What did you do correctly or approximately correct?"

"What, if anything, would you do differently?"

"What caused you to be successful on the things you did correctly or approximately correct?"

"How can you apply that to other areas that you need to do differently?"

This is all a condensation of multiple years of doing it, working with troubled trainees, and finding ways to help them find their success. Just like the mind can't picture "Don't" (as in "Don't think about your shoelaces" - because you'll immediately think about them) the brain can easily be driven to success by positive statements - I will do... I can do... I was succesful by... Stay away from the negative speak, and despite the industry and it's challenges, you'll learn well.

Good luck to you.

I feel weird jumping in like this haha but I’m not on here enough to keep up. Sorry about the truck RealDiehl. That sucks. I hope they can fix it quickly for you. My truck was down for a total of about 3 weeks out of the last month for dpf-related sensor issues but it’s finally running well again

Davy—that’s crazy impressive your wife does the Incline that much. That’s my goal but it’s gonna take me a while haha

Last night I got to get off early and go see Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin in Denver. First concert I’ve ever been to and it was absolutely awesome. Only got a couple hours of sleep before I had to head to work today but I was riding the adrenaline all day so I didn’t even get tired. Thankful for a dispatch team that worked with me and got me off early to go to the concert without making me take the whole day off or running me til the last possible minute
