What is your highest number of states driven through or been physically in during a regulation HOS day?

Mine is 8 states. Only did this once, but I hit 5 states on a regular basis. Has anyone done 9 or 10 states? Or more?

I have also done eight in a day. Also done over 600 miles in one state in a day--TX or CA.

How about three time zones in one day?

2 can't get very many with a 600 mile round trip lol

In my 2 months at Westside I think I did 4, maybe 5.

Error, that was done in a 10-12 day period, since my co driver wouldn't/couldn't drive over 600 miles a day, he wasted lots of time here n there. BUT I told him from the giddy-up, when you're tired, pull over and sleep ! Everyone can't do 720 miles a day, that's hard period.

From what I remember; 5 in one day. PA, NJ, NY, CT, & MA. I used to get the Pottsville to New England WM run every Saturday. Usually a 3 store stop route.

I do 4 states quite often with my flatbed deliveries/pickups. I can roll through PA, NJ, DE & MD in one run due to our terminal location and service area.

We have to enter each states milage to close our manifest upon return to terminal, have to really pay attention to odometer on those days and make a mental note of mileage at each line crossing then write it down at next stop.

Manifest:

Bill of Lading

An accurate record of everything being shipped on a truck, often times used as a checklist during unloading.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I was trying to remember my route from the 8 state day. I think I started out in eastern Ohio and then east across that small part of WV, into PA. From there I can’t remember whether I went north or south.

I should have written it down.

That blows my mind. Your ELD doesn't track that? I've never tracked mileage for different states it's all been handled behind the scenes.

Most states I've been in for 1 day is a measly 3. All loads start in Iowa. To hit 3 I gotta go through Missouri and into Kansas (as far as Topeka or Manhattan) before returning back to Iowa.
