The assignment I’m on right now has been 488 miles MT/deadhead and 1430 loaded. I think the longest trip was about 2200 miles. Almost all of our trips are just one stop at a distribution center.
To drive with an empty trailer. After delivering your load you will deadhead to a shipper to pick up your next load.
Fontana Cal. to Miami FL, 2800+.....We did do that trip once, then from a load Florida to Albany NY, a load out of Albany to Seattle, and a load back to Riverside, So Cali....I joked to my co driver, "Wow, we pretty much touched the 4 corners of the states" took us around 11 days and change. And we were wore the heck out. Took a few days off once home in Cal.
Boston,MA to Seattle,WA 3100 miles no stops
687 for me, due to dispatching errors. I ended up having to get rescued because I ran out of hours, but it was a profitable day. I made about 700 Dollars.
About 3,100 miles paid from south New Jersey to San Leandro, CA with a stop in Fresno. It was a hazmat load.
Took a 7th day to get done on recaps when a day of zero hours came up on delivery day. Couldn’t get both stops done same day.
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
This is from my Northernmost assignment. But Christmas is coming, I may get all the way up to the North Pole this year.
My longest trip under a load was 2260 miles.. from Jerome Idaho to Greensboro NC.
However, I just got a trip today from the Port of Oakland to Guymon OK. Not extremely long, just a hair over 1400 miles, but I'm doing it entirely as a bobtail!!
Laura
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.
I've had a number of coast-to-coast runs, but the more interesting story is the time a team truck took the wrong trailer from Atlanta to Seattle and had to bring it back.
OMG!

Laura, what were the circumstances that required such a long bobtail? And how was the ride for you in bobtail mode?
