Hi Jeremias,
The app is TRANSFLO. Photos can be taken on the phone of the Bills of Lading and any related papers and sent in to the company. Schneider has a proprietary tablet that does the same thing. My company uses the phone app.
In addition to the phone, some truck stops have TRANSFLO machines. A driver can use those machines free of charge to submit the paperwork for an assignment. I like to use the machines at the truck stop because I get a receipt to verify that my papers were sent. Below is a picture of my last transflo transmission.
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
Three of my four companies used TransFlo and the last one used the TransFlo ELD. My present company uses an app called Genius Scan. It takes pictures of the bills and other paperwork that we sometimes have to do, select the sharing button and then email. Once it's in my email all I have to do is type a couple letters and it pops up with the attached BOLs. Simple and easy.
I hand deliver them to our billing department.
I work for Knight. We use an app called zonar. It has a scan function that can be used by the phone and or tablet in the truck. It also will scan from file. You just take a photo with the phone. Monst of the apps are similar in nature.
My concern as always is that technology doesn't replace paper, both are used, leaving yet one more redundant step for a driver to do. All the bol info must be hard copies and now scanned in. In this day and age, it should be all electronic. It's ridiculous. We have to hand write out our delivery receipts, trip sheet, hand sign our bol and then fill out electronic forms or macros and then scan in the paperwork.
We do all this because college educated folks who have never driven a truck all had great intentions and great ideas. Pick one and stick it.
At Veriha I scan them in using the DriveAxle app on the tablet but can also use that app on my phone. The home daily guys based out of our home office left the paperwork in an inbox at the front desk but they told them that's no longer necessary.
I drive for Prime and we have an IT department that created our own Prime Mobile app. We use that to scan all documents, including BOL, CDL , citations, paper logs, bank dIrect deposit sheets and more.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
With CRST 2019-2021, we used the transflo app....With Legends '21-'22, we used an app they had (forget the name) Similar to transflo... And I had large manila envelopes, to put the actual paperwork in... I'd drop those off monthly to our dispatch office.
Cargo Transporters has their own app that we use our in cab tablets to scan, we used to use our phones and the company app.
Hi! I'm doing some research on truck drivers and how they handle documents. I was wondering, what company do you drive for and how do you handle paper documents like BOLs?
Do you just take a photo with a phone? Do they have a scanner in their app?
Thanks a lot!
My company uses Samsara. Basically, it's a logistics software that can be put on tablets. We have Android tablets that replaced the Qualcomm units. Unlike Qualcomm, we can take them off the charging mount to use for taking photos of documents and photos of the truck and trailer for pre-trips and post-trips. When taking photos of documents to submit with loads, there is software that optimizes the photo to remove glare, shadows, and the background. Personally, I don't like that this is the only way to submit our paperwork while on the road because the tablets are exclusively using data connections. There are dead spots all over the country, do this seems like a really stupid way to send vitally important paperwork. My company no longer has a Transflo account, so that's not even a backup option.
