With all the conversation about the virus, I figured I'd go ahead and add today's load. It's a Cat 320E excavator going from just outside El Paso to Spokane.

Good thing I got my doubles/triples endorsement,

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

Today's little toy. Armored med evac vehicle headed for testing on some new equipment. It's somewhat heavy but doesn't max out the truck and trailer. Gross weight, right at 114,000, with the unit weighing right around 74,000.

Today's fun little toy. She's a Cat motor grader that measures 10'6" wide, 14' tall and scales out af 95,840 gross. I picked it up from Cat in North Little Rock and it delivers to the port in Baltimore where it'll get loaded on to a ship and head for its new home in Egypt.

Spotted a three truck convoy hauling the giant wind turbine blades this afternoon. I was parked at a rest area on the west side of I-80 in Nebraska when these guys pulled into the rest area on the opposite side.

A long load.

Early this morning exit 12 Iowa I-35 heading south there were EIGHT wreckers hooked up to a windmill base that went off the road. Tractor was on the road but the trailer was not. I'd hate to see that bill!

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
