I always enjoyed stopping at the Giant Truck Stop in NM.... I Haven't been there for about 20 years now so I cant say whether it is still as nice as I remember it being....

Man, I'm taking a load to San Diego and I wanted to stop at that Russell's truck stop you guys are talking about. I was excited to go by there, but I ended up taking 10 across instead because of what's going on in Flagstaff right now. Maybe on the way back out.

I did just get done destroying the buffet at the Petro east of El Paso on 10 though, so that was fun too.

Pilot Continental Divide NM 1-40 exit 39 (formerly the Giant Truck Stop). The road leading to it is beat to **** but it's still a great stop with lots of parking

Joplin Petro 1-44 is another great TS. Huge facility and quite a bit of parking

I-80 Truck stop Walcot IA. The most amount of parking on the road and huge facility.

TA Ashland Virginia (North Richmond) I-95 Ext 89. Alot of parking for a I-95 truck stop.

Petro Waterloo NY, I-90 ext 41. Huge amount of parking especially for the Northeast.

As you see I base my opinion on a good truck stop on the amount of parking available.

This thread hasn't seen activity in a while.

2 spots that I really like:

Off I-80 in Brookville, PA there is a Chinese restaurant that always has parking available. Next door is a country style family restaurant.

Off US-20 in Irving, NY there is a truck stop called Native Pride Truck Plaza. Huge parking lot where I have seen plenty of space in wee hours of the morning. Good spot off the typical paths and not bad for a 34.

That would be Checker Board in Meridian, MS. 2223 S Frontage Rd, Meridian, MS. It is permanently closed, unfortunately. Trucks still park in the lot because there is currently no business located there.

Thats it exactly, Ryan. Thanks. Its been awhile. I had a co-driver who would take us way out of route to eat there. Irritating at the time b/c I wanted to get home. Nicest ladies running the place and I think it was directly affiliated w a local church!

In no particular order:

Iowa 80 in Walcott, IA

Petro in Laramie, WY

TA in Amarillo, TX (walking distance to Big Texan and always parking)

Ohio turnpike rest stops (huge parking lots)

Loves in Moses Lakes, WA

Bosselmans on i80, NE

Petro in Fargo, ND

Loves in Monroe, LA (close to Americold in Delhi)

The Casino (can't remember name) in Albuquerque, NM

Space Age (I think thats what its called) near the 82/84 turnoff in Oregon

Sinclair in Baker City, OR

And a hidden gem. MR.GAS on the 84 just east of Boise, ID.

Quick Trips in general in Wisconsin. Some of them have truck parking and the stores are great.

Petro in Rochelle, IL

There are also a number of DCs that have great overnight parking amenities. There is one in Irving, TX (I want to say XPO) that has showers and great overnight parking

Never been to the Boise stagecoach, but I hear great things. I live in Caldwell, ID so it is counter intuitive for me to shut down there.

I'm not posting any because I don't want them to be discovered and the word to get out.
