I am SO glad everything worked out for you! Congrats on getting your CDL and stay safe out there!
And don't forget to have fun!

Very happy for you.
Happy Dance!! Sorry that I left on Saturday with my student would have loved to meet a TTer. Welcome to the family
Congrats MM.
So you started @ Prime - had to bail for medical reasons - went to a private school, then back to Prime?
Since you go right to TNT (after orientation) for 30K miles - do you have a "contractual obligation" going that route?

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
Congratulations to you!!!
Congratulations!
If you've shown us anything, you've shown us that you've got tenacity! That will always work in your favor in this business. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to update us occasionally - I can guarantee you there are some folks in here who will be looking forward to your every word about training at Prime.
Congratulations MM...! Good for you, happy for you!

Hey everyone! It's been a minute since I've been on here, so I thought I would post an update. I finished CDL school about a week ago and passed my CDL licensing test on the first go. I was cleared to come back to Prime after my medical issue was sorted, and I've been in training here in Springfield, MO since Tuesday. Everything so far is running smoothly, and I already have a trainer lined up. Hopefully we'll be hitting the road sometime this weekend.
So far everything has been exceeding my expectations. There is definitely a different feeling when you come here as a CDL holder than as a PSD. They're always nice, helpful, and encouraging, but you already feel like one of the family when you already have your CDL. So far I've met a bunch of great people and we're all glad for each other's successes.
I'll continue to post here and interact with everyone, but if you're interested in following my road life blog style, you can find me at tumblr.com/blog/miss-miyoshi. I'm hoping that maybe it will become a good insight to the early stages of being a lady trucker.
I also wanted to say thank you to everyone that encouraged me and for all the information I got on here. This truly is the best resource out there and I'm glad I came across it when initially contemplating this career. Be safe out there, and May The Fourth Be With You.

The following is from Prime's website:
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training.
