Well the road was long, and it was paved with a lot of sweat and tears, but I finally broke through and passed the maneuvers and driving test today. I am now a proud holder of a CDL.

It was a lot of hard work, and I hate it took so long to get, but I did it. Now I'm going to enjoy it from now until Monday, and then I'm going to get back to work on Monday at orientation for XPO. Thanks to all who have given me words of wisdom and encouragement. It has meant a lot to me.

CDL:

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I too finally got my CDL A last Wednesday. Took four tries, also had to wait the 30 days after third try. Therefore I know how happy you are. A big congregation! ! I'm also looking at XPO. Let us know how orientation goes. I was told thay have 7500 minimum, with no team training. I would like to know if that's true.
