Beaver, UT. Hooker, OK. Needles, CA.

I have been to Hooker, OK before. I didn't have an exact address so I just put the city in as my destination for my GPS. When I arrived it informed me that I was "arriving at Hooker on the left". I got a little excited for a minute...!

What interesting town names stick in your head. I had a run from "peculiar Mo" to "normal IL".

Just glad I didn't go from normal to peculiar. Although tractor man will say I never left peculiar hahahah

As a Missouri boy I can offer you some Trivia about Peculiar MO. When the town applied for a Post Office, the application stated to "pick a name that was unique or peculiar". They chose Peculiar........

Licking Missouri is 40 miles south of where I grew up 😂

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Butcher, you look soooo familiar. Did you go to private school here in SE MO?

A private CDL school I should say...

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

We had a game when I was touring with bands. Every town will "ville" in the name - substitute VEGAS for VILLE.

So, we're playing Ashevegas tonight.

Someone beat me to the punch with Intercourse, PA. But there's also Blue Ball and Bird In Hand, PA.

Seriously.

And they are all right near each other

One other very important Amish town in Lancaster County (PA),...Paradise. A bustling community where the horses outnumber the residents.

Guys I drive through these towns with my Wally Wagon in toe...horse and buggy encounters are frequent and to be expected. Whole different world...

My favorite sign somewhere on Rt 10: "Horse Wash - OPEN"

Would be awesome. A lot of times I don't even mean to be funny lol. When I sit at the counter at TS 70% of the time the driver next to me pays for my meal to thank me for the great laughs lol.

I used a fake name to write my books cause I didn't want my bosses to know it was me. After the books circulated the building,....one of the bosses was like "there is no missing your sarcasm. I knew it was yours as soon as I read it". One of my reviews said " somehow she made a murder mystery have me burst out laughing ".

So yeah....would love to meet up. I wanted to try to get with Rick when I was in FL but dispatch complicated my life that day lol

I'm going to say that this place in NFLD will do well in whatever ranking comes from this thread. I'm not going to spell its name, because it will just be censored by the site.
