OTR life... didn’t have time to use the dryer, so hanging ‘em up in the truck tonight...

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Now I didn't take this picture, it was on the website of a company I delivered to. Yes, they want the tandems slid on OUR trailers.

Tandems:

Tandem Axles

A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Sometimes you have to “bend it like Beckham.” Had to back thru a busy parking lot and bend the trailer around the corner between a yellow pole on the left and a fence on the right. The fence is closer than it appears. One young man in a Civic told me I was #1 when I was backing. Fun times.

I was parked at a rest area off I-75 southbound, near Clio, MI last night.

I opened the curtains this morning at 0700 to see this:

I almost jumped back into the rack!
