Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing everyone. I’m still on abord and not looking forward to the switch.

One major advantage of ELD over ABORD, in my opinion, is the ability for the driver to make edits. Not advocating abusing the feature but changing a few minutes of ON duty to OFF comes in very handy from time to time.

I'm 57 years old. Who can argue with the "Forgot to go off" annotation on the edit.

We got ours last month, we used to be able to start hooking a set before going "on duty" can not do that any more as soon as you move at all it records it. We have "yard move" when we are in one of our yards so it doesn't waste drive time. We can not use yard move at a meet point since it isn't fenced in with a guard shack or gate.

Interesting. I use Yard Move at Meet Points and it seems to work just fine. I'm swapping trailers so what else can DOT call it?

How do you do that? My yard time drained a lot of my clock

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

I did it last weekend. I parked the night before, and did not do a post trip like a lazy, dumb a##! Sure enough, the next morning, I found a trailer tire starting to shred, after going On Duty for my pre trip. I went back to my log and put myself back off duty, preserving my hours. 5 hours later, I started my second pre trip.

Oh, you're going to love the switch when it happens. NOT!

LMAO, I’m sure I won’t packrat. I’ve been asking for 2 months what is going on with it because they have not said a word yet. I’m sure I will have to amend the way I do certain things embarrassed.gif

Yard Time will drain your duty clock but will not count against your Drive Time. Good for those long distance runs. Are you guys on the ELD or still on the AOBRD?

Sorry, missed the first part you guys are on the ELD now.

Login with your phone too at pfmlogin.com and choose ELD Driver Portal to check your logs.

You should see that the YM option will not decrease your drive time. I left the yard the other day with 7:59 left on my Drive line.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Uploading my last log from a very long day. If you look closely you can see I ran out of Duty Time and not Drive Time. Heck, I still had an hour of Drive Time left!!

I'm assuming the small blips of "off duty" are your yard moves? How is that legal as you're moving around the yard for work purposes I'm assuming?
