Just throwing this out there as far as the "end game" of Coronageddon that is something a little more concrete than a grand scheme to completely restructure global finance. A graphic on the news last night made this click for me. The graphic showed on NBC news, but only briefly, indicated that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has considered Brett's point of balancing the economic impact of this total shut down against the number of deaths from COVID 19. Heart disease will kill far more people than the worst case scenario of COVID 19, but you don't see the government padlocking Hardees. Trump made the same point in his news conference yesterday about how we need to restart the economy. While people have panicked about the health risks of COVID 19, that panic will soon shift to the impact on the economy. Both Trump and Cuomo realize this.

So is Governor Cuomo trying to save New York or is he campaigning for President?

Notice that you hear zero news from any of the official Democratic Presidential candidates.

During the Presidential primaries, many Democratic leaders expressed frustration with the quality and "electability" of the slate of Democratic Presidential candidates. But they were so far down the path of the Democratic primaries and it pretty much looked like Joe Biden would be the nominee. So how do you replace the lackluster and gaffe prone presumptive nominee at this stage of the game. You follow Rahm Emmanuel's advice and "never let a crisis go to waste." You leverage Coronageddon to create a Rudy Giuliani type of "man of crisis."

After 9/11 they called Rudy Giuliani "America's Mayor."

See the the link below to the article calling Andrew Cuomo "America's Governor."

https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2020-03-23/how-coronavirus-made-andrew-cuomo-americas-governor

And in the process take away the best thing Trump has going for him. Remember what they said about why people reelected Bill Clinton? "It's the economy stupid!"

The Presidential campaign from this point forward will focus entirely on who shoulders the blame for our current situation and who will lead us out of it.

Without a doubt, part of this was simply political one-upmanship. Politicians trying to prove they care the most about protecting their people, so a game of chicken to see who will go to the most extreme position. Cuomo has said, "When this is done I want people to say that I did everything in my power to protect the people." I would much rather say you took appropriate action that was proportional to the threat at hand. I don't want someone who will go to the furthest extreme and do anything for attention.

He also said yesterday, "I take responsibility for shutting down the economy in New York, but we must start thinking about how we're going to pivot out of this and begin working again."

He's taking responsibility? So does that mean he'll fork over the cash to help the thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of households in New York that he's crushed into oblivion?

Saying the words, "I take responsibility" is not taking responsibility. Fixing the problem means you've taken responsibility. When employees need paychecks and businesses need to cover their costs but there's no cash in the bank, saying, "It's Cuomo's responsibility" won't help anyone.

I again want to emphasize that I have not suffered in any way because of this, so I'm not talking about my position. In fact, this will give me massive opportunities to start new businesses in the coming months, and put money into the stock market at historically low prices. I will profit immensely from this, but it's heartbreaking to know how many businesses will go bankrupt, businesses that were the cornerstone of people's lives for many years or even decades, and all they could do is watch it sink like a mortally wounded ship, all because of a virus that the statistics show was no worse than most others.

On Thursday they will release the unemployment figures for the week. Wait until we see how many millions of people lost their jobs in very short order. Unfortunately, an economy isn't like a car where you can shut it off, let it sit, then turn it on and take off without any ill effects. An economy is the flow of money, a measure of confidence more than anything. When people and businesses are confident, they spend. Money circulates, and economic activity is high. When countless thousands of businesses go bankrupt and millions of people lose their jobs you can't just turn the key, start the engine, and continue driving again. It will take quite a long time to recover from this.

I worry even more that the news folks, who were incredibly successful at creating a global panic, will see this as the blueprint for future panics. Are we going to shut down the globe every time someone gets a virus? How long will it be before they name the next virus and start circulating figures about its destructive power?

I've released quite a few numbers already comparing coronavirus to other fatalities, and I'll do so again soon to put this into perspective.

Well, people are starting to find the courage to speak honestly about this. Trump said yesterday:

“Our country wasn’t built to be shut down,” Mr. Trump said during a briefing at the White House. “America will, again, and soon, be open for business. Very soon. A lot sooner than three or four months that somebody was suggesting. Lot sooner. We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself.”

“We have a very active flu season, more active than most. It’s looking like it’s heading to 50,000 or more deaths,” he said, adding: “That’s a lot. And you look at automobile accidents, which are far greater than any numbers we’re talking about. That doesn’t mean we’re going to tell everybody no more driving of cars. So we have to do things to get our country open.”

To me, real leadership means making hard but necessary decisions, not just standing on a soapbox saying easy but unrealistic things to look popular. It's easy to get on your soapbox and say, "Shutdown the world to save every possible life!" but you're devastating the lives of billions of people in the process.

If we'll go to the extreme and shut down the world to save every possible life from every threat then let's take that to the extreme. We can't just stop all illness, we have to stop all injuries and all violence, too.

Let's prevent every possible injury. Let's eliminate cars, airplanes, bicycles, stairs, sharp things, heavy things, hot things, poisonous things. No more running, jumping, driving, flying, throwing of objects, or leaving the ground for any reason. Then we'll eliminate all injuries and save millions of lives.

What about violence? You know, we can eliminate all violence against every human being if we simply eliminate all weapons and then keep all human beings out of reach of each other. Let's round up every gun, baseball bat, knife, rock, stick, or any object that can be used to injure another human being from a distance and then implement a law that requires us all to stay completely out of reach of other human beings. Then we'll eliminate all violence and save millions of lives.

It is not insensitive or reckless to say we must live our lives boldly and accept that there are risks for all of us. We can not cower in fear of every threat, nor treat every risk as avoidable and unnecessary. A life worth living can not be had without risk. It's almost never easy to figure out exactly where to draw the line, but we must have the courage to draw it in a place that doesn't eliminate all the things that make our lives so astounding, the things that make us feel so alive.

I see him as positioning to get nom'd at the convention.

Everyone knows Joe is senile. The covid panic makes for good cover to keep him away from the public/cameras. Finding him a "minority/female running mate" is the key to him having a snowballs chance (despite the people who will vote AGAINST TRUMP, rather than FOR BIDEN).

Put a women up, and other women will vote (regardless of qualifications). Put a minority up, and minorities will vote (again, despite lack of creds). Put Michael Obama up, and you get the women/black/tranny vote and it's pretty much a lock (and a lock for me moving to Israel or S/Central America), due to the continuing "Jim Jones Cult-Like Adoration" for anything Obama.

Cuomo would be a good choice for the party at this late stage of the game, as it give repubs ZERO TIME to do oppo research/marketing.

This posturing isn't for '24, it's for '20.

But the SCREWING he's given NY - is nothing compared to the SCREWING HE'D GIVE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY (and boy did he SCREW NY). His dad wasn't quite as horrible. And DeBlasio (Warren Wilhelm Jr) is a TOTAL CLOWN SHOW. If Ringling Brothers was still doing a circus, he'd be their STAR ATTRACTION.

Meanwhile, Pelosi flies back from SF on her broom - and loads a bill with so much pork - even the PIG RANCHERS are up in arms for her trying to steal a piece their action. KEEP THE F'in thing to COVID RECOVERY - not the lefts "Artist Rider" (what we in the music biz refer to as a "wish list"). Hopefully the AMERICAN PEOPLE SEE what these cattle rustlers are trying to pull. Makes me wish DJT had LINE ITEM VETO powers - they could send the bill and he could use a sharpie and say "f-this, and f-that too".

Political gamesmanship is turning into POLITICAL BRINKSMANSHIP - and it's OUR NECKS on the chopping block (little realizing if they keep this up, it's going to be THEIR NECKS). Eventually - even the most ardent socialist (a nice word for COMMUNIST) is going to say: LET TRUMP DO HIS DAMN JOB ALREADY".

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Cuomo will wait it out, too late for the convention, if there even is one. I don't think he would go on the ticket as the VP pick for Biden, either.

Meanwhile, when will this calamity end?

Illinois has allowed so many "important" businesses to remain open that only 2 of our customers ended up closing. Luckily As of now the mandatory shut down isn't as ugly as we thought it was going to be.

If you read these orders, you'll wonder what is NOT an Essential Business.

Why?

The stay at home orders are directed toward citizens, who only hear "stay at home." Exempting essentially ALL businesses seeks to shield the governments from a claim that they ordered the shut down of a specific business.

And I'll bet you that each business receiving stimulus funds will be required to waive any claims for Constitutional takings as a result of the government shut down.
