You were lucky to escape this situation with your life šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Deputy Fowler was nice enough but the Attack Yorkie would have done you guys in ... šŸ¤•šŸ¤•

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Yeppers, probably!!

And the Yorkie was 'Little Puppy Foo Foo' ... scooping up the truckers, and 'Bop them on the Head!' (If y'all get THIS, you are cool.. and my age, haha!)

Better then the barrel of a shotgun pointed at you, when I was on my trainers truck I missed a turn and ended up on some angry old farmers dirt road and took it all the way up to his house where he came out and greeted me with a 12 Guage, my trainer was not amused when he woke up.

Iā€™ve never had an encounter quite like that RD. I believe the Sheriff visits their property more times than heā€™d care to... LOL.

My interactions with Police during my 7 years of driving has fortunately been positive. Iā€™ve lost count the number of times an officer has stopped traffic for me when faced with an unexpected detour or road closure. We share commonality with them... we deal with the public, face challenges/danger mist people will never understand, and we both perform a thankless job.

Peace.

The ā€œimperial Marchā€ gave me a good laugh. Iā€™m just glad you didnā€™t get a ticket. Are you still doing reefer? I remember some time back I though you were considering tanker.

A refrigerated trailer.

That is exactly the impression I got based on the Deputy's demeanor while talking with the ladies.

Still doing reefer and training students. My FM gave me a bit of a guilt trip about losing me (a trainer) from her fleet. Plus, from the info I was able to get from tanker drivers I spoke to, it seemed like there were many situations where the ability to fix your own equipment was needed in order to keep rolling. Im not mechanically inclined...AT ALL. Combined with a substantial decrease in pay and fewer trips west of the Mississippi, I decided to hold off on the tanker thing. I still want to do it sometime in the future. Thanks for asking1šŸ™‚

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
