If you want this bad enough, you need do the pre trip and all other inspections so often, you can recite them in your sleep. If you cannot commit to that level of preparation, you're wasting time.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out with CFI. You're going to have alot more trouble now as I recall you didn't have many options before. Now that you were sent home from a program its going to be even more difficult. Continue applying everywhere.

I want to point out for those reading that may be interested in CFI or the school Kidd was sent to that what got him sent home was 100% on him. Pretrip is all memory. The school can't teach that, it's just reviewing the information until you memorize it. Also the profanity that could be looked at as road rage. There's far too many hot heads already on the road. I'm frequently cut off even if I'm doing the speed limit. It takes me all of about 5 seconds of taking my foot off the accelerator to get my following distance back.

good luck wherever you end up. Have you checked into Western Express and Trans Am? I don't believe either run their own school though.

Agree with Rob T, people get sent home from training and orientation due to their own faults. CFI still paid for his schooling, transportation, hotel, meals and more. He may even be on the hook for some or all of it.

Yes, pretrip cannot be taught for your CDL exam. When I have a student on my truck, I have time to show them and go over things as often as needed, however, there is no script to memorize. We are looking for anything wrong. The most common thing is lights.

CDL school is like boot camp, you must be able to learn quick.

Good luck to kidd, there are some who struggle in the beginning and go on to successful careers.

My best friend told me it's way better training over there, he's gonna come pick me up after his load. With the knoloedge I have now I can most certainly pass, wish me luck Scott.

Yep, good luck from me as well. Interesting that Millis is taking you on, considering. Who's paying off CFI, then? This will be an interesting follow, for sure.

I've been staying out of this one.

I am anxious to hear his reports of the training at Millis. Truck driver training is almost always rushed, and Kid keeps saying he needs more time to learn it. Millis is going to want him in a truck just as soon as possible. That's the way this game works. They aren't going to keep pumping money into someone who doesn't show progress. Kid holds the key to how this will ultimately unfold. I wish him the best. After all...
