It looks good to my eyes. The skin is healing, I wouldn't worry too much. A doctor will look and most likely give tylenol anyway... From my experience, burns heal much faster when exposed to fresh air. Greasy medications slow down the process.

Get it checked at an urgent care asap. I went through something similar last year and ended up in a horrible situation. I had a small boil that I popped within a few days it was infected and I ended up in the emergency room and off work for 3 months. The infection and wound opened up and I had a hole the size of ice cream scoop in my upper thigh. Spent 4 days in the hospital on iv antibiotics and then 2 months on a wound vac, which basically gets taped to the wound and a sponge jammed inside with a tube attached to a vacuum I had to carry around. Had to make 3 doctors visits a week to get the sponge changed out then I had to wait another month and a half for the would to completely heal before getting the okay to come back out. If I would went to a doctor right away probably would have gotten oral antibiotics and been done with it.

The doctor said it’s a second degree burn, but it isn’t infected, and told me to keep doing what I’m doing now which is using Neoaporin and covering it up, it’ll leak for a bit since it’s a open wound and to come back in if there are any signs of infection, etc.

Jamie, how did this happen? Can you put anything like antibiotic cream on it and a bandage, even Vaseline? Then get into an urgent care facility.

I burned it on my motorcycle exhaust while I was home, I have two motorcycles and I started them up before coming back out on the road, I was squeezing between the bikes when I got to close, my leg touched the exhaust for literally 1 second and got a second degree burn.

Damn Jamie! I've had combat wounds that looked better than that!

Keep a close eye on it. Keep it clean, let the bad stuff ooze, air it out as much as you can during the day, then a fresh clean wrap on it nightly. Hydrogen peroxide a few times daily if it allows, too.

Yeah it was pretty bad there for a day or two, where I actually thought it might be infected. I wasn't able to get by a Walmart the first few days to buy the stuff I needed.

But funny enough, I already planned to wrap it up at night and let it air out while I was driving. rofl-3.gif
