That sucks. I know my turn will come. I made it 18 years as a licensed driver before I hit a crowd of deer and did damage to a car. I'm hoping the gods smile on me in this career, and wait a bit before testing me that way!
Thanks Davy!
That's a great reminder for all of us. It's that time of year again. The deer are running around and acting really stupid. It's an annual ritual that every deer hunter attempts to use to their advantage.
It happens, you actually have minimal damages to what it could be. I saw in another thread your in Augusta I’m guessing at the KW shop.
They are good folks, but been my experience they are slow getting parts on somethings. Pretty small dealership. Good hotels and restrauants in walking distance though.

Yep lol. Nice people there for sure, will know more on the parts. May have a recovery on a brand new KW to do in the mean time, If it works out, I wouldnt mind grabbing it. Mine is a 2020.

Got a almost brand new 2022 kenworth out of it. I'll post pics as soon as I get it washed
Theres two gangs on the Va/Carolina border. Suicide squirrels and Suicide rabbits. They wait until they can run directly under your tires. The deer expect you to stop for them!

Though, I’d rather hit one in a truck than when I did on my motorcycle! (Hope to never hit another deer in anything, really.)
Second week solo, leaving the terminal with a 44000# load of haz on I80 through Joliet. MASSIVE 10pt (5pt Western count) comes up outta the median overgrowth and tries to outrun me... he lost.
Took 6 weeks for the company to get me to HQ for body repairs (it was an FLD so only cracked hood fiber). Left HQ, heading east on I72, less than 45 minutes after rolling out, and two deer decided they NEEDED that segment of roadway, one of them got to keep it. My dispatcher thought I was busting on him... the recruiter sent me an email with a photo of a company power unit with two deer images photoshopped onto the driver door..
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Well, that threw a monkey wrench into my productive week and month. Mrs Slick took out the radar plate, lower bumper, a bit of the grill and the ABS light is stuck on now. Going to the KW dealership. Never swerved just hit the brakes, DM got a good chuckle out of the smartdrive video.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
