Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a joyous year.

Highs - I'm a Great-Great Uncle again. My late brother's granddaughter had a little girl. (My brother was 16 when I was born... making me an Uncle at age 7). My son is doing great in College at Iowa.

Lows - I got Covid and now have long Covid. Sucks but I'm dealing with it.

Done Differently - I guess refused that load when I was coughing.

Goals - Get back behind the wheel. Lose 25 or more pounds.

Dean

Almost that time again! What were your highs and lows from 2022? What would you have done differently? What goals, wishes, and expectations do you see for yourself in 2023?

Lows: Getting fired from a company I loved....But I was warned by my Safety guy that covering my driver facing camera could get me in trouble. The office manager saw it in May and I was let go.

Highs: getting hired by the company I am driving for now at a higher wage than my last company and being selected as Driver of the Month this past week. I'm still running lots of miles.

What would I have done differently? I should have quit my last company instead of covering the camera and went with a company that doesn't have driver facing cameras.

My goals have to do with my personal life, which is to sort through all the crap at my house and start getting rid of stuff. However 4 to 5 weeks out, and have four to five days off isn't really very much time because the first day or two I'm dead tired. I'm hoping to get at least one of the three acre lots sold, so I can pay off all my bills except the house and maybe I can slow down some and enjoy life more. My other goal is to continue to lose weight. I have dropped 35 lb since last January and have kept it off! 😁 I have some wishes....which is that the company lets me run 3 weeks and off 4 or 5 days. It is being talked about. I also have a couple other wishes but those are personal 😁

Happy New Year to everyone. I pray we all have a safe and blessed 2023.

2022 was a whirlwind for me for sure. Mixed blessings for sure.

Low- Got my own authority and spent alot of money setting up for a customer that abrubtly stopped using outside carriers in October.

High- I got married to my best friend and partner.

Goal for 2023 is to pay off debit and slow down to create a good work/life balance.

High: Bought a bass boat, so I have spent most Sundays fishing with my dad. He was super excited since we had one 15 years ago and had to sell it.

Low: kinda of embarrassing but I have become horrible at saving money. I had more money saved when I was making less a couple years ago. I have all ready started correcting that, I will do better this year.

I just arrived at my delivery customer in Denver before the snow storm tonight. Can’t unload until after 21:00 Monday. So settled in for a break.

My wife and I are selling our big house closing Jan 23! Major downsizing and cost cutting in 2023 so that we can make it on our Social Security and my driving income.

So far we are blessed that I was able to return to work and that our house sold in one week for a very good price in December.

After a lousy week last weekend pay wise I’m looking at 3,000+ miles this week! Feast or famine in winter!
