Very cool OS! I'd imagine a warehouse would have these to forego the expense of overhead cranes so forklifts can do all the loading/unloading.Very innovative!
Have a great week Sir, thanks for sharing!
I guess that’s why they came up with the term “rub rails” . Lol
How the heck...?!
My first thought was "Bowling Alley".
Been there done that.
As I'm sure Old School will agree, backing into these takes straight backing to a whole new level. You may think you know how to straight back perfectly but you realize when you back into the one of these, not so much.
By the way Old School, I was thinking about you and how your book is coming along.

I took a break from it after I finished it. I sent it to some "beta readers" for feedback. I've decided some of it needs a revisit to get it the way I want it. It's still ongoing. I hope to make it available in about three more months. Thanks for asking. I've put a lot of effort into it, and I hope to produce something interesting and helpful to new drivers and those just looking into the career.
Very impressive Old School. That shag driver did a great job, we all know flatbedders can't back up!
In all seriousness great job. How often do flatbedders in general need to back into a specific area at customers? Most places I see them getting loaded they just drive in/out with very minimal backing required.
You are correct in that most places we go require minimal skills, but there are some places that require exceptional abilities when backing. I'd say it's less than 10% of the places we go. Just like playing poker, it's better to have more than you show. There's going to be a time come when you need those skills.
I've been to many of those types of docks myself, and that one looks particularly familiar, along with the product. Chances are I've been there too.
I remember telling my wife once that backing into a dock like that is similar to the strategy in playing the game "Operation" (remember that one?)
Don't touch the sides or BZZZZT!

I remember Chief Brody sharing a similar photo with us. This week I picked up a load of steel tubing in Gerald, MO. This is where you back your trailer in to get loaded. It's amazing when you consider some of the places we are expected to put these massive vehicles.
It was actually fun. I always enjoy the challenges out here.
