Two Things That Irritate Me About My Truck

Here's a giggle for everybody.

Today, as with every day for the past two years, I have valiantly fought off the inconvenience that is known as the CB mic (coiled) cord. You would think, at some point, I would learn to either pull my hair into a bun, or dodge the cord. Apparently, I am a slow learner. My long hair gets tangled horribly in the coil every time I turn around!

Also, my hair is so fine, that if I even think of getting in the general vicinity of the Velcro on my curtains, I get stuck there too. 😤🤣 It only took me getting into a new to me truck to flip the window curtains so the offending Velcro is at least on the passenger side. Oh, and did y'all know the sleeper curtains have tie backs on them too?

There we have it. The short list of things that are a minor inconvenience that I blow way out of proportion!

Lol, my biggest first world problem that I complain about way too much on my new truck, is the passenger door only opens about half as much as the driver's door (to keep from hitting the mirror.) So since I do my paperwork for every stop on the passenger seat while standing on the step, and my shoulders are wider than the door opening, I have to turn sideways to get my body into the opening. So dumb. rofl-2.gif

NaeNae, I have absolutely no sympathy for you. Recently you pointed out that in the Frightliner, the steering wheel and driver’s seat are offset. I never noticed it before, but it’s bugged me ever since. I think I may need therapy now, thanks to you.

Of course, I’m only teasing you, haha!

With Prime I always had trouble with that cup holder on the floor next to the drivers seat. I'm surprised I didn't break a toe.

No matter what make of truck I have driven the factory wipers have always been horrible! All the technology they put into these trucks and they still can't get the wipers right. SMH.

The foward radar crash mitigation in both of the trucks ive had. about every 3 to 4 weeks it slowly degrades calibration to the point where it brake checks on every shadow, every crack, every electronic sign. particularly at sunset around this time of year. It takes about 5 minutes for our shops to recalibrate it and then your good to go for another month.

The other ocd tidbit that just drives me nuts is the fact that my speedo reads 1 mph faster than Im actually going. at 65 according to multiple gps, the truck says 66 and will sit there and run right between 65 and 66. its like nails on a chalkboard to me.

The Cascadia seatbelts randomly lock me in place for no discernable reason whatsoever. Drives me nuts. I'll go to adjust the visor, change the radio volume or whatever and will be prevented from doing so.

This is also a safety issue when I try to lean forward while driving or backing to look out the window for some reason or another, and the seatbelt decides that is the appropriate time to pin me to the seat.

Haven't had that problem with a FL yet. Both INTs I had locked up at the slightest movement though. Very annoying.

On my Western Star the mirrors shake really bad and it’s a really rough ride on some of the really bad Colorado roads (88th ave and 96th ave in Henderson, 58th ave and York in Denver, and I76 around where it crosses I25 are some of the worst offenders). I love this truck though and it’s been super reliable. I’d buy it on the spot if I could

It's one of those things that you just can't unsee! I have to sit slightly off center in my seat to correct for it so my brain doesn't pick it up. I always knew I was a bit off kilter 🤣

I have broken at least one toe on that stupid thermos holder. Of course when I was researching companies, I watched the "tours" posted on YouTube. And they were so proud of the dang thing. Clearly *that guy* has never woke up to pee in the dark at three am, trying to get to his flip flops at the driver's seat for the 100 yard sprint across the parking lot with one eye open..... Or something.
