Unfortunately, I think this is way more common than we are aware of. This driver alone has probably been doing this forever. There was an article somewhere maybe cdllife where they found weed, and a recording studio in his truck. Guy was literally recording rap songs while he drove. The mom and pop I fuel at has a ton of cbd there. I asked the lady that works the mornings if any drivers by it. She said all time. Said now lady in particular spend a 100 at a time on cbd gummies so she can sleep. Crazy.

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Whoops when I said "in his truck" meant the driver in the said article. Not the driver grumpy is referring to.

There is 100% nothing wrong with CBD products. It helps allot of people and has 0 intoxicating properties and will never show on a drug test.

Tell that to the driver who lost his job after using them

Since CBD products are classified as supplements, they're not subjected to any form of regulation on their purity. A driver would have no way of knowing if they were being exposed to trace amounts of THC, which can and does happen. Unless there was a particular product with a surefire guarantee it was consistently 100% CBD, there would always be the lurking possibility of a failed drug test. Kinda risky since it's something almost no one can ever come back from.

Could also very well be hemp he is rolling. Hemp is legal and people smoke it for the CBD. It contains a negligible amount of THC.

we had a woman here test positive and told she needed to go through SAP. she couldnt get hired anywhere... and she claimed she onlu used hemp oil from a natural food store as a rub for a bad knees, leg or muscle. i do t remember. i do remember she couldnt get hired.

and will never show on a drug test.

Harvest, you need to do some research before coming onto a trucking site and advising drivers that CBD is safe to take. Virtually every expert out there warns that trace amounts of THC can be found in many forms of CBD. Especially the variety found in truck stops and Mom and Pop stores.

Regardless of whether you test positive on a drug test, CBD Oil contains THC, which is an illegal substance under Federal law.

US DOT List of Banned Substances

FMCSA Form 5875, question 31, asks if you have used an illegal substance in the past two years. If you have used CDB Oil that contains THC in the past two years, you would have to check yes.

If you check yes and explain that you have used CBD Oil that contains THC, you are medically unqualified to drive:

Medically Unqualified

If you check no, then you have made a false statement on your FMCSA Form 5875 and are subject to civil and criminal fines.

Rick: am I wrong?

IMO, not a good practice to consume CBD Oil.

CBD has helped many people with ailments and pain relief without the use of Opioids. Theres no arguing the benefits. However theres no way of knowing that there isnt a trace of THC remaining. I'm not willing to risk my CDL and livelihood over it. Same reason I won't eat a poppyseed muffin, for fear of a positive drug test. Close to every week I'm stopping at the I80 truck stop in Walcott and see drivers buying CBD products. The products may indeed contain 0 THC as advertised, or they may contain just a trace that causes a failed drug test. Personally, it isnt a risk I'm willing to take.

My mistake I should of clarified, “full spectrum” cbd products DO contain trace amounts of THC which would be a risk especially if using allot of it. However if it is “CBD isolate” than it strictly only contains CBD. Injesting products that are strictly CBD will not cause a positive test for THC.
