I have good vision on left eye, bad vision on right eye. I was wondering will dot physical contact the dmv if I fail the vision test. Miraculously when i took vision test in dmv the tester was looking at the chart and I cheated and used both eyes and uncovered the good eye.

I found a FedEx small business contractor job. They said they will hire me as soon as I pass dot physical. The Amazon small business contractor doesn't have dot physical but area where there is a lot of homeless people drunk and jaywalking. It's relatively safe, but not very clean.

I can only take physical here https://www.concentra.com/ will they notify dmv if I do bad on vision test.i dont want lenses to be marked on my drivers license. I would rather work in amazon small business dealing with homeless jaywalkers, glasses are hell for me as i lose them regularly, I like to swim and can lose them easily.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

I'm not sure, but hopefully they will notify the DMV that you do need corrective lenses. You can't remember to wear glasses, but will remember everything associated with driving an 80,000 lb CMV?

Your shortcuts of cheating the system may seem clever now, but your cheating will catch up with you eventually. After you do run over a pedestrian, the court will see you should have been wearing glasses. Worth a prison term for your dumb decision?

CMV:

Commercial Motor Vehicle

A CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business, is involved in interstate commerce, and may fit any of these descriptions:

  • Weighs 10,001 pounds or more
  • Has a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more
  • Is designed or used to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver) not for compensation
  • Is designed or used to transport 9 or more passengers (including the driver) for compensation
  • Is transporting hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placards

…and “miraculously”, far worse judgement. What exactly do you hope to gain by posting something like this? This forum does not condone what you did.

Do the right thing. Get your vision corrected. Take your glasses off when going for a swim.

glasses are hell for me as i lose them regularly, I like to swim and can lose them easily.

How did so many of us survive?

I’ve been wearing glasses since third grade (I’m 60+ years old). Twelve years in the military, ten in the Navy and a majority of that time on ships, which rock and roll in rough seas. Glasses are a pain for me too. BUT I WANNA SEE!

Rule #1: DO THE RIGHT THING.

Steve, that is a very astute comment, along with the others. I had great vision for so many years, I’m spoiled. Now I need reading glasses (3.00 magnification) I still don’t need glasses for driving, but the time is probably coming soon. If they helped me with my driving, it would be a no brained. I’d wear the glasses, no question.

I've been wearing glasses since 7th grade and have never lost a pair even when swimming. Instead of trying to cheat the system maybe do it the correct way?

I swim and shower with contacts. And can drive an 80 000 pound killing machine with no issues.

Remember that omitting this info on your state DMV and federal DOT forms you are flat out lying.

Yeah, that's just. Wow.

Should I not have corrected my son's vision, because he broke 15 pairs of glasses in two years? (Thank God for online glasses availability!)

I really wish I could say that I'm surprised about your attitude on this, but sadly it's no longer shocking. I am sure that the prosecution will LOVE this pose, when you run over someone.

If God forbid his kills someone in an accident, the lawyers will discover his lies. It won't end well.

I wonder if they could turn that into some sort of criminal reckless disregard for human life or depraved indifference.... Yep... I'm a.law and order fan. (Or at least was before 2010)

Is this post someone trolling? It has to be, be auseno one is that stupid as to admit they cheated on their DOT vision test because they are legally blind in one eye; plus, are too lazy to wear eyeglasses they need? I pray to God you never are involved in an accident that causes injury to an innocent person because of your immaturity, total lack of responsibility and utter stupidity.
