I am devastated. I have run for Greedy One Kenobi for over 7 years. Today I was told he is being forced to become a lease fleet manager.

I either go lease or lose him. This man has given me everything I wanted and i have spent years building and improving his fleet to become the best it could be.

People tell me i am treated terribly because i am a company driver and I laugh and thank them for letting me know. I never gpt that memo.

He listened to me cry when my Mom died and when i had surgery.

This economy is hitting us all, not only with slower freight, and lack of hiring, but with restructering. It sucks!!!

I do not know to whom they will assign me, but due to my hard work and reputation... i was able to make one call and placed myself on a mini fleet so i can remain a company driver.

I feel like someone died.

Fleet Manager:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Hang tough Kearsey,

No one in their right mind would let a true professional like yourself go anywhere. You have proven to be the best of the best. After the downs in your life you always come back better and stronger. You have helped so many new and experienced drivers to be successful and your positive attitude is refreshing. I for one applaud you "Jersey Girl" as another driver from NJ that I used to be before retiring.

Yeah, that’s a bummer. And now think of all the work it’s going to require of you to break in another one. But knowing you through the forum, you’re going to be just fine.

What is this “mini fleet” of which you speak???

Mini or micro fleets are lease ops that run multiple trucks. A friend has 11 trucks here at Prime. 6 are paid off so he does well even in this economic time. Yeah i will break in another

I get to stay a company driver and keep my benefits...but gone are my training days. As well as home daily.

Good luck with this Kearsey. I’ve experienced changes in management, but nothing like what you described.

Tougher times.

I thought it sucked losing your fleet manager , but you've also lost training and home daily? Good God! What a bombshell!

We're heading into a much bigger economic mess than most people realize. Buckle up!

Dang girl, alot of change all at once. Terrible for sure, my heart goes out to you.

When I was company I always hated that part, they never give you any advance warning.

Looks like there is something going on in your flatbed division lately. I have seen several loads on load boards. That used to never happen.

Your a strong lady and proffessional. I know you will be just fine in the long run.

Woah! I am just speechless at the reshuffling that happened. I sat in a training room with 4 other people for an assigned class, and they never showed up to teach it.
