BK I don’t completely disagree with you. BUT, we are all very busy. We donate our time and are successfull in this industry. I won’t speak for all, but I scan and comment where it is meaningful.
As one of the younger moderators relative to trucking, I certainly don't qualify for having forgotten more than others know.
I do see your point but also as stated, we are busy with our lives and livelihoods as well. I know for myself personally, even if I have down time I'm constantly planning and preparing to keep work coming in, and keep myself at the top tier of driver, ensuring that I have work. I also balance that out with home life and hobbies and pursuits.
Have seen plenty of instances where they have. Topics like that generally have high engagement for a while, but eventually traffic slows and the topic sinks into obscurity.
Believe it or not, some of us have lives outside of this forum. Between the 60-65 hours a week I work, and spending nearly every weekend over the past 3 years building my own home 100% by hand, I've been a little busy.
However, as PJ commented, I'm here every day scanning, monitoring, and commenting when I am able.
We all do what we can.
The role of a moderator is to do just that. Moderate content. Preside over discussions. You are just as capable as anybody else here Bruce, member or moderator. Feel free to crank out some lesson plans yourself.

Hey Turtle. Yeah, I know you all have other things to attend to and I should be the first to say thank you for all the learning I’ve received here on TT.
Not just for myself, but for new students and drivers, I hope they all can benefit from the content here as much as I have. So, to you and all the rest who have taught me stuff, corrected my mistakes and put up with my ramblings, THANK YOU!

Bird, great observation. I will think about the lesson plan idea, it could turn into a good thread. Look for lesson plan number one in the near future.
On a side note, what happened with Chief Brody? Haven’t heard from him in a while. I always enjoyed his input.

Wow, that is amazing, Turtle. I remodeled my kitchen during a slow time of year (completely gutted, re-arranged layout, etc.) but that was during a slow time of year for me. I can't imagine how you could find the time and ENERGY to do this with your long work weeks. My hat's off to you.

Recently, Brett commented about traffic being slow here on TT. Then there was a flurry of activity, but now it’s back to being slow.
Moderators always answer questions posted here, but I’ve noticed they rarely post topics. Hey, you guys are the teachers here, where is the lesson plan?
The moderators have probably forgotten more about trucking than what I have learned. I’d like to see some topics posted that are just teaching topics from the moderators experience. Or, even anecdotes from their experiences in trucking.
I’m not trying to call anyone out, but I think there are a lot of teaching opportunities that could be exploited.
DOT:

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
