Congratulations Mr. Old School! Great accomplishment. But the guy I’m most impressed with is your dispatcher making it this far, lol.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the million miler title means no at-fault accidents or citations for all those miles. Only those who drive can truly appreciate how difficult that record is to achieve. It amazes me more every mile I drive.

So, have you decided what make of truck you want? And color? As you get older, are you going to continue with flatbed?

PS: I’ve also started on my second million miles. I gave up on the first. Lol

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

As you get older, are you going to continue with flatbed?

Definitely keeping with flatbed. When I was in businesses I had several men who worked for me up into their 80's. They weren't working because they were desperate. They liked being productive and active.

I learned a lot from them about being passionate about what you do. I have no dreams of sitting on my porch watching the days go by without me having some influence on them. I have a beautiful place in the country with family nearby. I enjoy being there, but my passion for now lies in being effective at my chosen career.

I'm sure the day will come when I'm ready to slow down, but for now I still have at least another million miles in me that I'd like to roll.

Davy, I'm still working on this. I'll post a photo of my million miler truck when it arrives.
