When you're considering becoming a truck driver, one of the big concerns is whether or not you'll be able to find work without any experience. Well we have a list here of trucking companies that hire students straight out of school, and most of these companies even have tuition reimbursement programs!

Arnold Transportation was founded in 1980 and is based out of Jacksonville, FL. The company provides long distance truckload services as well as regional fleets in the Southwest, Southeast and Northeast. There are more than 800 company owned trucks and an additional 500-plus owner operator units within the company.
Baylor Trucking was founded in 1946 with just a single truck. Based out of Milan, IN, the company has remained a family owned business but has grown to more than 300 trucks. Baylor operates in all of the lower 48 United States and hauls dry van freight.
Conway Truckload is based out of Joplin, MO and was founded in 1929. The company has grown into one of the largest trucking operations in the country and employs more than 28,500 people. Conway hauls mostly dry van freight, although they are diverse in both Truckload as well as Less Than Truckload operations.
Covenant Transport is a faith-based truckload carrier based out of Chattanooga, TN. The company began in 1986 with just 25 tractors and 50 trailers. Since that time, Covenant has grown to more than 3,600 tractors and 9,500 trailers operating throughout North America.
Crete Carrier Corp. was founded in 1966 and is based out of Lincoln, NE. They haul dry van trailers while their sister company, Shaffer Trucking, handles temperature controlled freight. Crete now employs more than 4,200 drivers with more than 4,000 tractors and 9,600 dry van trailers.
Gordon Trucking, Inc. (also called GTI), based out of Pacific, Washington, was founded in 1946 with just two trucks. Today, the company is the 22nd largest truckload carrier in North America operating across all of the lower 48 United States as well as many parts of Mexico and Canada.
KLLM Transportation Services is a dry-van and refrigerated transportation provider, operating across America with their headquarters based in Jackson, MS. Over 180,000 loads are delivered by KLLM each year through their OTR, regional, and dedicated divisions. They also offer a paid 3 to 6 weeks training program for drivers who have recently completed an approved CDL truck driving school.
Based out of Amherst, WI., H.O. Wolding (also called H.O.W) is a medium size dry-van company which operates across the United States, although they mostly operate regionally in the midwest, northeast, and southest. A paid training program is available for recent CDL grads and weekly hometime is normally acheivable soon after training is complete.
Maverick Transportation is based out of North Little Rock, Arkansas and began operations in 1980 out of a small home office. Today, Maverick Transportation owns more than 1,000 trucks operating in the flatbed, refrigerated, and specialized hauling industries operating throughout the United States.
May Trucking Company is based out of Salem, Oregon and operates a fleet of more than 900 tractors, providing transportation services for refrigerated and dry products throughout the United States. Tuition reimbursement is offered and a custom training program is available.
Since 1981, Navajo Express has been transporting both dry goods and perishable commodities across the lower 48 United States since 1981. With their headquarters based out of Denver, CO., the company operates more than 1,100 trucks with over 2,000 trailers running OTR, regional, and dedicated operations.
Schneider National is North America's largest private truckload carrier with a huge variety of opportunities for new drivers. Schneider was established in 1935 and operates throughout the US and Canada.
Shaffer Trucking was founded in 1937 and merged with Crete Carrier in 1974. They are now based out of Lincoln, Nebraska and operate more than 1,400 trucks with 2,800 trailers. Shaffer mostly hauls refrigerated or temperature controlled freight and operates throughout the entire lower 48 United States.
Star Transportation Inc. is an irregular route, dry van truckload carrier headquartered in Nashville, TN. Founded in 1980, Star currently operates a fleet of 600 tractors. Star is registered to operate in the continental 48 states and Canada but primary lanes are east of Dallas, TX.
Super Service is a regional and dedicated carrier operating throughout the eastern half of the United States and is headquartered out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. With more than 1,200 tractors and 2,500 trailers, the comapny hires both experienced drivers as well as those who recently completed truck driving school.
Tyson Foods was founded by a truck driver in 1931 with just a single truck. Today, Tyson Foods operates a private trucking fleet of nearly 1,000 trucks and 2,100 refrigerated trailers. Tyson Foods operates throughout the U.S. and normally hauls their own products, making this a unique company to drive for.
US Xpress started with 48 trucks in 1986 and now operates more than 8,000 tractors and 22,000 trailers making it the nations 2nd largest privately owned truckload carrier. The company is based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee and hauls dry van freight throughout the United States.
TMC Transportation is based out of Des Moines, IA and is the largest privately owned flatbed trucking company in the United States, operating throughout North America. In addition to accepting experienced truck drivers, TMC Transportation hires inexperienced drivers who recently graduated from an approved truck driving school.
Werner Enterprises is based out of Omaha, NE and was founded in 1956. It is currently the 5th largest truckload carrier in the United States with more than 7,250 trucks and over 25,000 trailers.
